  • I'm unsure why I disliked this wine so much.

I settled on my preference for red over dark fruits in Pinot, and dislike of whole bunch funk. There's definitely something 'funky' happening here. I'm unsure of the source of that funk but the prior reviewer and I share the 'yuk' conclusion. (Multiple professional reviewers refer to 'sappy, whole bunch' character.)

    Be warned!

  • I’m a little disappointed, both in myself and this wine. Firstly that I allowed a telemarketer to talk me into this wine on the basis that “it’s a Bannockburn” and secondly, because it just sucks.

It is almost full bodied for a Pinot, although a little cloudy. But the funky sour cherry fruit are unbalanced against the rest of the herbal/cola palate. I left it for 24 hours which helped, but the wine is still fundamentally unbalanced. I’d say it needs at least another 5 years to be drinkable.
