Neighbourhood hangout at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, initial funk that blew off, then aromas of stemmy spice, bright red cherries, raspberries, strawberries. Developing. On the palate, dry, bright high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red licorice, bright red cherries, raspberrries, starwberries, stemmy spices. Savoury mushroom with more air. Long finish. Very good quality. Dujac stems elements in place here. A lot cooler and less ripe than expected for a 2015. Well done. Will drink well as it develops over the next 4-5 years.

PnP, then drunk over three evenings. TN from day 2. Nose of red fruit, spices, a bit of sauvage, a floral touch. Complex, interesting, though not particularly refined. I suspect that the effect of the stems is still felt, which is not negative. Lovely balance on the palate. It feels almost without weight, even though it is quite powerful. It's earthy and mineral, red meat, iron. Long finish, on dark, earthy notes. In this moment still a bit grumpy but a wine of character.

Bien bon, typique du terroir, mais sans rien de bien spécial. En bouche c’est arrondi sans être velouté. Fruits rouge, bonne acidite bien dosée. Bien fait, mais évidement le RQP est mauvais.

Dense dark blackberry and plum fruit, graphite/pencil lead. Rich, almost savory with salty, gritty medium tannins and low+ acid. 13% Alc. Way more interesting than I expected for a village MSD, for lovers of forward fruit. Makes me curious to try a cooler vintage like 17’ as recommended by Burgnick, the previous taster. Good now, better after 2025.

Village Burgundy at 67PM (67 Pall Mall, London): Lovely fragrant nose, strawberry fruit, florals, spice. Medium bodied, strawberry fruit, soft and “floaty” on the palate, touch of game, spice, vibrant acids, good length finish. Lovely.

Decapsulated and poured after 60 min, amazing nose dark berries and cherries, taste is delicious , I just love this wine, used to buy it every year since 2014, stopped at vintage 2017. Pricetag is too much and counting.

Got three hours decant, extremely delicious nose berries and touch of oak, taste long and integrated tannins. Can be drunk now but let it rest 5 more years.

Burgundian Exploration: Alongside the Chambolle villages, the Morey St Denis shows a similar raspberry base but with a more masculine character, augmented by ripe stems which adds a minerally elegance.

Another excellent village wine from Dujac. The nose initially is very ferrous and sanguine with game and blood, then ripe dark fruit, hints of earth, and just a bit of floral notes. With air the game notes fade a bit and the fruit takes the forefront. The balance is excellent and this is absolutely a pleasure to sip. Delicious now with plenty of upside. Restaurant purchase.

Pours medium ruby with some transparency, and flecks of blue and purple. The nose wafts dark cherry, huckleberry, thyme, dry hay, rose petals, and soil. The palate has slightly elevated tannin and good acid, replaying many elements of the nose. The finish is quite lengthy built on dark cherry and rose petals revealing the promising future ahead. The palate also reveals some stemmy spice lurking in the shadows. Overall a little tight and very young today, but I expect this to age nicely. I'm glad it's not showing any of the '15 heat.

One of the very best young Dujac MSD's I have had. Impeccable balance and proportion. There's perfectly ripe blue fruits and loads of floral spice. It has the scent of rose petals and is full and rich, with the intensity and length of a 1er Cru wine. Delicious now, even better in a decade.

It had black cherry, blueberry and pomegranate fruits. There was a touch of floral spice and the palate was liquid velvet. Just below the flesh is a line of minerally acidity and it finishes fresh, with plenty of energy.

Terrific, at this level. Deep, dark garnet colour. Musky, perfumed bouquet of black cherries, blackberries, smokey barbequed game meats, wet peaty soil and underbrush. A little Morey funk. In the mouth, rich, juicy and fully ripe, but not overripe. Delicious sweet tannins but some serious structure across the back palate. Good fruit weight and power as a Village wine and with enough acidity to provide some freshness. Well balanced. Ideally, it could use 3-5 years in the cellar.

Tasting at Domaine Dujac (Morey St Denis): Domaine tasting, from barrel. Fairly tight and closed in with red berries. Very good concentration and structure. This was completely unyielding. Needs 10+ years in this strong vintage.
