decanted 30 minutes ... probably needed 30 more minutes before the first glass ... wine was still tight on first glass by second it had opened beutifully ... great wine

The drinking window here is WAY off. This ready now and it is frankly really, really good. Syrah leads the way but it balances it's heft with some finesse

A nose of some funk and dark fruit, dark black purple in color. A full bodied and bold red blend, with black berries, black raspberries, spice and minerals, needs a good decant. www.winelx.com

Effervescent on opening but disappeared quickly. Intense aromas of flowers and berries, more earthy fruit on the palate. I would have rated this higher but after awhile I detected a subtle band-aid note which suggests some brett and not in a good way. I think this wine had the potential to be good but a few flaws got in the way—an irony given its name.

Corked. Bought on 8/25/17 at the winery. Initially it had a strange effervescent quality with light fruit that later turned to straight up cork taint (1 hour).
Really nice. More balanced and mellow than I expected -- red fruit dominates so less earthy funk than many LCs. Curious how this will age--seemed very young right now.

Linne Calodo: Like the Contrarian, this was served too warm. Nose was instant barnyard and fertilizer. Everyone in our party caught a whiff of some version of manure and/or funk. Our hostess explained it away as earthy and mushroom (she didn't skip a beat when she responded to my friend's comment about the nose; I couldn't help but wonder if that hadn't been the first time she'd heard that feedback).
Luckily the Hee Haw smell didn't make its way on to the palate, though it was hard to actually taste the flavors of the wine with the nose still as pungent as it was. Some mediocre plum and purple fruit flavors, with a little bit of earth and stone. Fairly pedestrian through the entire consumption.

We really like this Syrah-heavy GSM... big and full, a nice blend. Smooth and integrated now, probably as good as it will get.
9/12/20 Another bottle, another 93... a beauty.

Beautiful fruit forward dense paso syrah with enough structure and acid to keep it fresh. Still young and primary. Wish I could see it in 5-10 years

I thought this wine was good, but not great. Pretty mellow flavor. Smooth wine, but not much complexity.

A year in the bottle and a half day's decanting bumped this from a (mere) 90 points to a smooth, spiced and silky 93.

Soft, supple and ripe. More fruit forward syrah dominates. Drinking nicely now. Did not pick up any off notes or aromas as in earlier posts.
