Still drinking well. It’s lost its fruit, but still has the oak and some cream, interesting secondaries. I didn’t note any oxidation but the color has deepened and I wouldn’t wait much longer to drink it.

Pop and poured i to a decanter. Then enjoyed in Gabriel glas stem. Golden ambrr color. Nose offers hazlenutes and hint o sea spray. Nutty profile with an aged almsot sherry like note but yet not an oxidative note. More the nuttyness. Good mouthfeel. Interesting.

Not your usual Chardonnay. Quite developed, the nutty flavours really come through. A bit like Burgundy meets white Rioja with a splash of Sherry. Very interesting. In a blind tasting I would have never guessed Chardonnay from California. A lovely bottle and yes, time to drink up.

Rich deep golden yellow color with fragrant nose of pineapple, apricot, butterscotch and fresh green herbs. Medium to full bodied, crisp acidity, the 14.5% alcohol is evident. Tropical, melon, vanilla and a hint of ginger flavors. An interesting wine with a lot going Food friendly. Lingering finish.

Christmas Eve as appetizer wine. FANTASTIC wine with great balance and fruit. Maybe a bit in citrussy side but the wine just is great and QPR is excellent. Very elegant and nice length. People will remember this wine once they had it. Need to go for the 2016 just as a comp.

Deep golden color. Good advice from prior posters to give this some air / breathing time. Honeysuckle / apricot nose with good dose of oak, and similar on the palate. I enjoyed it and will probably hold my one remaining bottle for another year or two.

This was a PnP which was a mistake. This improved dramatically over the hour it took to drink. The note is focused on the final tastes Much “bigger” than past Ridge Chardonnay, there was honeyed apricot/melon. While this could have been a little overpowering, the acidity was enough to create a very nice balance. Although the oak was a little too much at the beginning it became less pronounced as time went on. Even so there was never that butter that often overpowers too many Cali Chards. A much better value than most.

This is a well crafted Chardonnay. Medium bodied and well delineated. On the pallet it Captures a hint of oak, Meyers lemon brings acidity that’s not over baring. A slight melon and tropical lift. It has a nice 40 second finish. It’s a worthy $40 Chard.

Ridge continues to impress me with this Chardonnay. It stands right up next to their big red offerings at a reasonable price point. I bit of the petrol and oak on the nose with plenty of fruit notes. Good acidity and freshness without the typical "California" Chardonnay malolactic fermentation butter bomb glycerin mouthfeel. Lovely!

Decanted. The color is all lemon oil; treas joli. Lemon oil, sweet golden delicious apple, something “nutty” that DDB describes as sunflower seed, along with some mineral notes and vanilla all come together on the nose. This wine has it going on! Those scents morph into flavors on the palate in a near seamless way. This is a big wine, but not “Cali” big. It’s rich without being flabby. This would be big for a European wine, but like a European wine, it has good acidity. It’s a wine with “crunch”. Made in neutral, American oak barrels, Eric Baugher compares it to Meursault. 14.5% alc.(!), but the alcohol doesn’t show at all. With the Ridge Virtual Tasting and a little left for dinner of pork tenderloin under mustard-fennel crust. I learned that Ridge makes a Monte Bello bottling of Chard just like its top flight Cab, but make it only in select years. Recommended.

I opened this wine with some trepidation as I panned the '14. Turns out this was a really lovely chardonnay. The oak is there, but there was persistent fruit and acidity that gave great balance. Truly well made.

Lovely - great acidity, nice fruit, leaning towards flirting with too much reductive/struck match, but that’s my consistent experience with ridge chard, and it usually blows off. Overall, a real pleasure.
Really excellent. Oak influence without a lot of oak flavor - round profile, big body, just a hint of vanilla, no butter here. Great lime/apple/tropical fruit profile, great acidity for a vegan meal. Pop and pour, ready to go.

Tasted at The Wine Society's dinner, Berkshire, UK, with Ridge winemaker Eric Baugher introducing the wines. This was our first wine with dinner, served to accompany the salmon blini starter. It was served very cold and I felt best after 15 minutes in the glass. Lime green colour, with a lovely classic, rich aroma of green apples. Very dry, yeasty, with some oak showing. A classy wine.

This was everything i was expecting it to be. I wouldnt bother decanting this because you will miss the reduction that makes it so classic. The slightly burnt matchstick matches the oak and vanilla so well it made me think Corton. The mouthfeel was huge with plenty of acid and oak tannin to make it complete.

Decanted for an hour based on comment from previous note (thanks!). Showed really well, wife lived it as well. I LOVE Ridge Zin, so served to her blind to be sure there was no label bias. Again, she loved it. Definitely new world, and on the edge of my oak sensitivity, but I am very sensitive to oak. Balanced wine with great complexity and length. Really good. Needs a little time or decant.

Deeper lemon, long legs. Some damp earth that eventually blows over to some warm orchard fruit on the verge of being tropical. Some lemon rind and orange, oak and a floral note. Wonderful silky full body, medium to short finish with a decent acid backbone that you need to decant for an hour to notice. I'd highly recommend decanting this for an hour to let the wine balance out. It's great drinking if you let it breathe.

White flowers, lemon, and vanilla on the nose. There is a bit too much oak though and it throws off the wine’s balance. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Short finish.
Deep yellow color. Intense nose of ripe stone fruit, lemon, yellow apple and dairy. Full body, with the fruit and the dairy flavors showing early on the palate, and ending with a chalky finish with noticeable oak. Long finish. A little much for my taste.
