  • Reserved on the nose but very pure. On the palette this is verrrry intense and concentrated. Peach, pineapple and enough acidity to carry it for quite a long time. Excellent. This will benefit from a few more years of cellaring.

  • Theme was Rhone white, blind. There was another bottle of this on the table, bought at the same time (same shipment, actually, we collaborated) and they initially were quite different. Served at different temperatures. As ours warmed, the flavor profiles got much closer together. These two led off, so we didn't have anything to compare them to initially, and there were some other wines that seemed to out-perform this Hermitage, but taking another taste at the end, I and a couple of others were quite impressed. Somewhat quiet nose, but complex. Smooth palate, a lot going on, plenty of fruit and structure. Long finish.

  • Other notes said this was almost viscous. We didn’t get that at all. This was elegant, light on its feet, more playful than Chave, but a serious wine nonetheless. We have a Rhône White tasting this week, we will bring another bottle and see what our Rhône-ophile friends think. We absolutely loved it, paired with a smoked trout dish that was to die for.

  • Clear golden yellow color with a slightly green hue on the edges. Soft nose of peach cream, stone fruit, oak and a hint of pineapple. Lush, creamy mouthfeel. Almost thick. Really nice balance of oak and acidity. Plenty of stewed pear, lemon zest, oak, vanilla and a streak of minerality. Well made with a long life, but I'm not sure the acid structure is there. Personally, I'd drink within the next three/four years.

  • To me, this is excellent (and 96 is as high as I can remember ranking a wine). Very full, viscous, and round, but with elegant and delineated flavors. Melon, butter scotch, spice. Really runs the gamut.
