I had above average hopes for this wine, based on previous vintages I tasted. This vintage was mediocre: the wine was just dull, with nothing to grab my attention. I tried two bottles, with same result.

Classic Brunello, high acidity and tannin, with quite a full body and depth of rich dark fruit flavours. The mid-palate falls away. This wine shows the weakness of the 2014 vintage loud and clear. There are the fruitcake raisoned fruit and spices one expects from Brunello, along with tertiary leather coming through. Long and complex. Drink now and over the next 5 years.

Cherry, asphalt, burned leaves, celery stalk, dried herbs, touch of smoke on the nose. Red fruit with some salinity, medium-ish body, elegant style, though feels a touch thin on the palate and maybe doesn’t delivery a ton of flavor intensity. Tannins that come in towards the finish.
Felt a little more promising on the nose, didn’t quite deliver on the palate. Still a nice wine and pretty good value.

2-3h air for this BdM from a small producer. Aged in Slavonian oak. Light garnet color, very earthy bouquet, with strawberry, cherry, oak, soy sauce, forest floor and a hint of chocolate. Medium-bodied, silky texture, zesty red fruit on entry, with deep earthiness and a surprising spicy lift in the finish, and a backbone of rustic chalky tannins. While this could probably still use tome time, it is already very graceful.

Nose is mostly herbaceous; body is light to medium and taste is medium dry with some pucker at the finish. Interesting price for a Brunello. Seems a bit more like a Rossi.

Such deep fruits on this one. Tastes so fresh and lively. Not much need for a decant, it just shines!

thin vaguely herbal, what a mickery of the appellation. many chianti classico's have better quality
