100% organically farmed Chardonnay from 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre. 12,5% alcohol. Tasted blind.
Pale whitish-green color. Sweetish and somewhat restrained nose of stony minerality, some fresh pear, a little bit of chalk dust minerality, light woolly tones and a hint of cantaloupe. The overall feel is rather reticent. The wine feels clean, ripe and somewhat round on the palate, yet not without sense of firmness and a well-proportioned medium body. The flavors are a bit restrained with notes of sweet citrus fruits, some juicy Golden Delicious apple tones, a little bit of steely minerality and a hint of cantaloupe. The acidity feels rather high. The finish is ripe and juicy with quite long flavors of zesty citrus fruits, some steely minerality, a little bit of sweet golden apple, light juicy notes of white fruits and a hint of wool.
A balanced and juicy 1er Cru Chablis that tastes like what it is - a ripe warm-vintage Chablis. Perhaps lacking the cut and precision I'd want in my Chablis, but showing enough freshness and structure that I can forgive the rather noticeable ripeness and roundness here. It's hard to say whether this wine will actually improve much with age, as it really doesn't feel like it was built to age, nor does it feel like it would call for any additional aging. An sophisticated and enjoyable wine that is recognizable enough for the region that my guess was a Chablis from a warmer, early-drinking vintage like 2015 or 2011. Nice, but doesn't manage to blow my socks anywhere.

I've reacently read of sevral other people having problems with bad corks on Duplessis' wines, but in my limited experience I've never had any problem with this. There were however some seepage through the cork on this one, and I got quite worried. But I still opend it and upon smelling and tasting it there were no obvious signs of oxidation.
The wine was clare and had a pale yellow in color without any sediments. Had it been very oxidized I would have expected it to be a stronger yellow.
On the nose it was very aromatic. Typical Chablis aromas of oysters, a sort of salty seabreeze and seaweed character and green appels. There were also alot of herb aromas, especialy anisseeds.
Medium body, nice acidity and very long.
Very complex and has a very nice consentration.
Although I can find no clear signs of oxidation, the wine seems abit "tierd". Compared to a 2015 Laurent Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy i had a few weeks ago wich were so full of life, there seems to be something that's not quite right about this Duplessis MdT. I will definetly be checking the corks on other bottels I have, and perhaps open them fairly soon.

Well...I "had" to open my last 2015 MdT because I saw that it had a protruding capsule. Seepage was evident...the cork slide out way too easy, and was really soaked and spongy. The wine is a LOT better than the last two undrinkable bottles of angry, disjointed, chemical, alc fummy hot messes. Although not as great as the first bottle I had in 2018. Looks like I got a bad batch of these, which is too bad because they are wines to lay down...totally built for the long haul...but there is NO way these faulty corks will let you do that! I can't explain the angry and disjointed juice in the past couple bottles, and can't blame the cork for that, as the first bottle had a bad cork as well, but the wine was excellent? The weird thing is...no signs of ox in any of these bottles...which you would think would happen with faulty seeping corks?

MAN this is a bad bottle! Opened last night, and it was SO disjointed, angry with sharp acid, rubbing alc fumes, and chemically? Thought maybe it was my palate? So I corked it up, and opened another bottle...a 18 Tercero Rose, which drank well, so it wasn't my palate. Revisited this tonight...still the same! I've never experienced a Chablis like this? Two bottles have been wonderful, this one, a disaster?!?! Wonder what happened here?

Glad I opened this bottle now as the cork seemed very light and cracks all over? Would not hold up to the lay down that these wines are intended for. Another classic Chablis from the Caves Duplessis! Coiled and intenese with dense minerality...bright citrus acidity...power held back like a dam, waiting for the energy to be released! I can only drink the young ones that I have...but am dreaming of trying one with serious age! This MdT is another beauty...pure lemon/lime citrus, pitted orchard fruits...rain water clarity, raw peanut, white flower florals...chalky limestone minerality with the sea air salinity and funk. Shows a nuanced complex layer of spearmint and white pepper spice. Tasty and correct Chablis...but...as ALL Duplessis.... one for the cellar! +pts
