Quite a complex wine. Pale but an intense ruby color. Nose is quite aromatic - red cherry, violet with some secondary notes of cedar. Taste reinforces the red fruit, cedar and adds some tertiary earthy notes. Good balance of acidity and tannins to support medium+ finish with all essential elements harmoniously playing their role to the end.

Pleasantly surprised by this, especially given my recent view of Oregon pinots. This was well balanced with less acid than I've been tasting lately. Good fruit and good value if I really paid $43 for it.

Enjoyed. Didn't click with the ham as I'd hoped, but was dynamite with good dark after dinner. Wish I'd saved more of the bottle for that. For this bottle, glad I didn't wait to open; definitely ready.

Finger was hovering over the like it or don't like it for the tasting note. Barely made it to like it. Muted flavors. Nothing jumping out here. No off notes either though.

Very ripe, dark Pinot fruit - jammy and some spice. Immediately sweet on the palate, jammy fruit and heavy. Almost flabby so not refreshing or interesting to me. Nice label.

Left in glass for one hour. Pipe tobacco and black cherry flavor on the nose. Mild tannins and a lingering finish. Enjoyed with a Berkshire porkchop in a mild mustard sauce

1 hour decant. Light to medium translucent purple (hence the name?). Nose and flavors of sweet tobacco, allspice, sweet tarts and grape soda. Mostly sweet but with an acidic finish. Medium to light bodied. Unique flavor profile for a Pinot noir. Easy drinker but not a big fan of this style - neither elegant nor robustly extracted. More in the style of a Grenache like Orin Swift’s Trigger Finger. 83-84.

Light gingerbread and heavy stewed plum aromas. Palate had most of the flavor up front, with a fairly hot middle and somewhat attenuated back. A little heavy for my taste in Pinot but enjoyable enough.

Tons of sediment, thick, cloudy, hazy, disgusting. Obviously flawed, very disappointed this wasted space in my cellar for 5 years

2nd bottle much better than first. nice bouquet. First sip is a bit off, not sure why. It does become much more pleasurable as it opens up.

Subtle yet simple... some minerality and tannins kicking in... interesting Pinot noir looking to see how it evolves

Bold, spicy with tobacco notes. Long smooth finish with nice acid/tannin balance.
