PnP. Pleasant nose of a mature burgundy. Almost reminded me of good Chambolle on the nose. Opened up in about an hour. Not the wine of the night but great. I wish I had another bottle to keep for 2-3 more years.

Past its prime and the prime was not that great. A little thin and while some of the guys liked it with shellfish, the women were unanimously opposes and preferred the '99 Mersault

Medium-light crimson color. This was underwhelming at first, with the nose seeming light and airy, and the palate coming across as thin and astringent. An hour or two after being opened, the nose had expanded to encompass a rich floral perfume with distinct notes of lavender. The palate also bloomed, with red fruit flavors being accented by a lick of licorice, though not much in the way of distinct terroir. The acidity on this was very firm, leaving the finish somewhat unbalanced. Overall, a nice village wine drinking well enough now.

This wine has an amazing bouquet of sweet perfume. Mid weight and lively on the palate with a dose of acid on the finish that is tamed by food. This wine is drinking well now but should go for at least five more years.

Brick colored. Very tart at first. Then mellowed a bit, showing strawberries, dark but light fruit flavors. Medium bodied. No reason to hold this. Drink up.

Some bricking at the edge, but generally dark ruby and clear. Aromas of licorice and cherries. Taste is tart with bright, clean strawberries predominate. Jammy, long lasting taste. Full bodied. Hot going down the throat with a bit too much acidity. A nice glass even if not balanced. Drink within the next five years. -JBL

The Mann's Out of Space 3 - Laurent's 1996 Burg's: Deeply colored in the glass. A bit of must and oily petrol on the nose. Rich on the palate, but quite tangy. Cranberry fruit with a late citrus edge. I vacillated between thinking this complex and monolithic. Ultimately rather closed on the palate and not a favorite of mine.

Red fruit (cherry), minerality, nice earthy/ sous bois, slight beef broth. Good acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

Full bodied. Full of fruit. Tastes more like a Premier Cru than a village wine. A bit too much acidity, which throws it off balance. Very good.
