Bought directly from the producer. Classic nose, maybe even a bit more earthy upfront. Tannins we’re softer than I expected, but not fully resolved yet. Acidity was lower, in the med + range. Alcohol still needs to integrate a bit. I’d expect this to be a little better in a few years, but not a whole lot.

Dark red. Intense and vibrant nose of dark red berries, plum and violet. Sweet fruit on the palate, with gentle, fuzzy tannins. Stylish and easy to drink now.

A little darker color than the 2014 Montersino (i.e. not traditional), this opens with a nose that's offering more complexity, brightness, and includes some high-toned red fruit aspects. Good soil, mineral components, no lingering hard candy. Clean, balanced, well-structured. Great energy on the entry, tannins are somewhat fierce, vg acidity; with a few minutes in the glass, a creaminess sets in, the wine become less serious in nature - my notes say 'easy to understand'. 14,5% abv. (resolved), drink 2020-2033. recommended

Not quite up to some prior vintages.

Tightly wound and poised but requiring much more time in bottle to show itself off

Medium light body. Not significant in its flavour. Tight at the end. Can’t see this one evolve into more than it is. Expected more from it.

The Victor in the battle of the Piedmonts at our Nebbiolo - allow for an hour decanting for best result, lite fuse and get back.
