Regret opening it to soon and/or not giving it a long decant. On open it was closed and metallic, but over the course of the night it revealed nice blueberry notes accompanied by plum and black tea. Wouldn't peg it as a CdP but it was pleasant enough.

Trying our best to enjoy old world wines. Some flavor, a little fruit on the nose, but not quite our cup of tea. It was nice to bring something home that Dad enjoyed at least.

A most lovely evening with amazing dinner guests...and this guy the first of two different bottles. .right up front the nose was fruity with cherry strawberries and slight acetone. To the palate super ripe cherry, strawberry slightly peppery with a med plus finish. For the price point of this guy is an excellent value on a chateauneuf de pape..

Wine Tasting Nightmare (Total Wine, Tempe, AZ): The second of the two reasonable wines. This is a fair representation of a Chateauneuf du Pape and at this price point: a good effort. It misses the jammy fruit, tannins and acidic structure you would expect. On the other hand, it IS hard to find a good CDP for less than $40/btl.

Immediate impression was strawberries! On the nose and palate. Went well with grilled salmon with tomatillo salsa.

Tart and pleasant. I likely opened too soon as it was nothing special.

Lush, juicy, dark plumb, perfect acidity, mildly tannic finish. Nice.
