Light yellow. In the nose, hardly any signs of its age, very intensive, tart and fruity with tangerine peel and juice, candied lemons, salty notes, dried flowers. On the palate, there's some deep minerality, it's dry, yet not completely dry, out of category. Very long, tart and intensive finish. Great wine.

Heckuva nose. Petrol and smoke and florals. At first I swore there had to be some Gewurz here with lots of kerosene and pepper. With more time in the glass this is getting lean and mineral and more floral, diesel and Riesling in character. As bright and expressive as the nose, the palate is bone dry and screaming of mineral. Peppery. Salty. I really love where this is going.

Man, I love Deiss. This is great. Very mineral and chalky, a very complex nose. Petrol, citrus and spices on the nose. High acidity, med body, bitter orange notes with some grapefruit and green apple. The finish is long and mineral. Dry with a hint of RS. Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Auxerrois

Pop n pour. A medium+ straw colour leads into a bowl of honeyed orchard fruits, white flowers and spice with minerals tucked into the background. A rich, medium body pairs nicely with the underlying core of acidity and medium+ finish; just the slightest hint of oxidation. 13% abv, approx $28, and quite lovely. Drink thru 2011.

Cork extracted at ludicrous speed, revealing a tired old hag of a wine. Poor thing. You could taste the promise, but the oxidative notes were really pronounced, even for Alsace. What a shame.

Seemed slightly corked, yet this was still impressive. Honey and intense spice on the nose. Bone dry palate with chilling minerality. Bracing, in a good way. Serious wine.

Tasted at a retailer tasting. Light yellow in color. Nose showing peach and petrol. Palate seemed a bit bitter, showing apple, spicey characteristics and overall dry. Short - medium finish. Not worth the price offered by the retailer (34.99 retail with discount down to 29.99)

Domaine Marcel Deiss Dinner with Mathieu Deiss (Everest - Chicago IL): Lighter styled vs the other cellared wines in the flight. Elegant with moderate concentration and length.

Good, but not impressive...Well-behaved, yet I was expecting some surprise factor... Not a perfect match with Sushi and maki

A bit drier than I recall. Nice diesel aromatics. This is aging out well and seems to be at a very nice point of maturity.
