  • 6 Tasmania wineries Dec-19; 12/27/2018-1/2/2019 (Tasmania): {A$55} Last stock of this. Six years on lees, which has given a light autolysis character to the nose and palate. More chard than pinot, yet it’s a strawberry character which is most obvious to me. Mild yeast flavours too. Light/medium body, with medium-sized creamy bubbles. Soft, integrated palate. Medium length finish. Nice wine but lacks depth & persistence at this price.

  • This is really a very good Aussie sparkler. Aperitif style. Detectable dosage and strong creaminess makes it very easy to drink. Good weight of fruit (lemon hint) but light on its feet. Bready complexity with bakery notes and a medium finish where the acid is cut cleanly, is there but not razor sharp or teeth stripping- just really nicely integrated. Tasted many below this quality level. I think this could go another 6 years easy but may soften out over time. If I was going to pick I'd say a tad too much of sweetness and could do with a tad more complexity from reserve wines but maybe all it needs is more time in bottle to get that. Surprised that no one's reviewed this vintage before.
