Our last bottle. Popped and poured. Showing some bricking at the edges, but still a dark red color. Very aromatic as I expect from Hirsch. Black cherry, some earthiness and cinnamon and baking spices on the nose. Has become more complex with age. Blackberry, blackcherry flavors start out, followed by earth and baking spices. Velvety smooth with a long smooth finish. The tannins are completely resolved. Maybe a touch past its peak, but still drinking really well.

Interesting nose of damp pine forest floor, wild raspberry, smoke and game. Silky on the palate with dark, woodsy fruit, pine needle, smoked meat and a little cinnamon spice. A medium length, spicy finish with fresh strawberry and white mineral. Very enjoyable, but this bottle had a little less energy compared to one from a year ago. I recommend drinking soon.

14.1% alcohol. This is such a pretty wine. Rich red color. Gorgeous nose of black cherry, blackberry, earth, baking spice, and minerals. In the mouth, so lively and delicious, with that classic Siduri verve behind it. In the mouth, deliciously pure, with loads of black cherry and blackberry fruit. There is ample complexity in this gracefully aging wine, with notes of earth and spice. Long finish. Just a pretty, complete, gorgeous wine. A-/A

14.1% alcohol. Tastes incredibly young for a 2000. Opened and poured during dinner at French 75. Light delicate (restrained even) aromas of raspberries, strawberries, earth, and roses. Soft and silky on the palate, with bright red fruit flavors and a touch of pine of the finish. Extremely well balanced. To be sure, this is not the kind of pinot that makes you go "wow," for IMO the depth and complexity just is not there. But there is a certain gentleness about this wine that makes it quite charismatic. And while I am a bit hesitant to make the comparison to the B-word, I would say that this is a California pinot that would very much please francophilic palates. Drinking well now and for the next 5-8 years.

The best Hirsch I have drunk. A beautiful, clear garnet color. Complex, earthy nose of wild strawberry, plum, pine forest and a touch of char. Excellent texture and weight on the palate with red fruits, cinnamon and pine needle. Lovely balance of fruit and Sonoma Coast acidity on the finish. For me, by far the best of the 99-04 Siduri Hirsch. Ready now and for the next 3-4 years.

Decanted for an hour...expressive nose of earth, perhaps the earthiest Pinot I've had from Siduri, alongside denser black fruits...on the palate this wine rocked, floral, sweet and balanced fruit. Delicious Pinot, not as sexy as the Central Coast offerings, but much more complexity than the usual Siduri suspect - maybe a product of age?

Nice bouquet. Up front berries, but not much back end. Might be on the way downhill

Easily Siduri with Adam's classic thumbprint. Nice wine and harmonious.
