Such a great QPR. Such a consistent winner in each vintage. Really good on day #1 with a couple hour decant and amazing on day #2. Such a powerhouse of dense dark fruit, earthy notes, rounded tannins, and long finish. This has a long life ahead. On the second day everything softens perfectly and integrates without losing its energy or long finish. Such a treat.

Decanted an hour. This wine was then in a bit of a funky place for another hour before developing into a nice bottle. On the nose blackberry, plum, some tobacco, graphite. Medium tannins, medium+ body and finish. Second time having this wine. First time was in Napa. My impression of this wine this time was not as good. Wine was stored at cellar temp since arriving over a year ago. Could just be an off bottle.

Winorama: A winter in Wineland III; 1/4/2019-1/13/2019 (Portland/Willamette, Eureka, Napa): This is more about potential than it is about how the wine is drinking at specifically this moment. Unlike the '12 and '14 this is all about the darker fruits. More of a brooding profile. Tannins are there and come across as a touch dusty. There's a nice power and interest to the wine, but it needs a lot more time to come together.

A lovely expression of a Classic Napa Cab profile. Stewed fruit, coffee and tobacco. Didn’t require much air time. This is ready now.

Great wine with excellent fruit that needs time to marry better. Look forward to revisiting in 5 more years. Solid potential to be 95+
