Pretty much aligned to the last one in 2021. More pear than citrus, hay, minerality and a hint of spices. The palate is nicely balanced on ripe fruit, acidity, minerality and salinity on the finish. Judicious use of wood. Good stuff and if oxidation doesn't hit too soon this will still live for a while yet (5+ years).

I've had some over-evolved bottles of this in prior vintages but this was clean as a whistle. It shows aromas of citrus, pear, hay and a hint of spices. There was also a mineral twang to the nose. The palate is nicely balanced, letting you think it might be a little flat but then hitting you with just enough acidity and salinity to keep everything in check. Judicious use of wood. Lovely. If this doesn't oxidize, I would love to try it again in 5 years as a little more age could really add a nice dimension to this.

rich and buttery. stone fruit, melon and a light touch of coconut. the fruit fades a little quickly on the palate with the buttered toast and vanilla notes being most prominant.

This Fontenotte is one of the reasons I think St Aubin is now right up there with the quality of most Chassagne, Puligny and Meursault, and much better value. Drinking beautifully and will last. Notably better than the 2015 village Meursault from Louis Jadot drunk a few days before (see tasting note).

Bon vin.
