Etwas grüner Rand. In der Nase sehr reduktiv. Wenig Frucht. Fokussierte Säure. Schlanker Wein und mit 7,5 % Alk der perfekte Sommerwein. Fast noch zu jung, aber macht auch schon viel Spaß.

I liked this, especially for the qpr but I guess I’m just a bit opposed to RS. This is certainly not the wine’s fault but I think I’m just more of a fan of the dry rieslings.
Nice tropical flavors.

Very light almost clear, slate with golden tinge. Nose some funk at first, waxy with some golden fruit. Palate very precise, light golden fruit, slightly tart, light bodied. Some honey notes, a mineral tinge. 7.5% abv. on day 4 (kept in fridge), nose still pronounced reduction. Palate still very precise, wonderful slight sweetness and fruit. An electric rocky mineral vein of flavor running through.
Very classy and lovely kabinett though the initial funk on the nose still mars it some for me. Perhaps a few more years would help bring out more of the obvious depth.

Light yellow hue. A little petrol on the nose-- after a little time this blows off. Slight sweetness-- very pleasing. A little dry, stone, slightly floral. Terrific. Wish I had more!

Finely woven aromas of golden fruit, resinous leaves, salt spray, and slightly acrid smoke. Spritzy on the palate with a lively fruit core, sparkling acids leading to a crisp finish. A lovely aperitif wine. 50 + 17 + 16 + 8 = 91.

Light slate golden color. Nose some petrol that blows off. Some sponti/funk, subtle and lessens with time. Palate waxy wet stones, slightest off dry, crystal clear golden stone fruits, great acidity, some floral intensity. A crowd pleaser with its slight sweetness but has the depth/balance for more serious interest. high potential. 92 pts

Very good and clean mineral and acidity. Wet mineral (think rain on stone). Petroleum, honey and peach. Very nice already but might be bit young and better in a year or two.

Focused but not all that interesting except for the residual sugar which I found added a depth to it. Well contained citrus and peach. This should have worked well with asian food containing umame but we had it to raw seafood and that was not the sweetspot. I would also have this as an aperitif - super easy to drink and to like.

7,5% alcohol. Tasted blind among 49 other 2016 Riesling Kabinetts in Kabinett Cup 2016.
Pale grassy green color. The nose was aptly described as "perfumed flatulence": there are notes of apple blossom and honey, but also some stuffy, reductive sponti aromas of cooked root vegetables, some rubber and a hint of sulphurous skunk. The wine is light-bodied, very crisp and racy on the palate with enjoyably pure and intense medium-sweet flavors of freshly pressed Granny Smith apple juice, lemony citrus fruits, some slatey minerality, hints of white flowers and a touch of sour apple candies. The finish is crisp, medium-dry-ish and lively with quite long flavors of green apples, sour apple candies and some pink grapefruit. The aftertaste seems to end on an almost bone-dry note.
Very crisp, pure and nice Riesling whose nose still suffers from reduction - even though the wine was opened some 24 hours before the tasting! I'd let the wine age some 3-5 years just to get rid of reduction, even though the wine is otherwise drinking pretty nicely right now. It is obviously pretty sweet, but the almost bracing acidity keeps the wine surprisingly dry. Not that remarkable now, but shows good potential. The wine didn't score any points from any of the 12 judges. Priced more or less according to its quality at 14,90€.

This is a seriously good kabinett and I'll have to buy more to follow this wine development, more yellow tropical notes, though a slight hint of some green apple, blue/grayish mineral tones with a subtle spices on the nose, similar palate with medium plus length and depth

Pnp, pale yellow colour, on the nose this bottle shows very slightly fermentation aromas and strong tropical fruit such as pineapple and grapefruit, on the palate the bottle is changing to a slate driven wine, smoky, saline, light (7,5% ABV) but energetic, like a mountain stream in springtime, the strong but somehow fine tuned sweetness of this youngster is perfectly buffered by a supporting acidity, will for sure be a classic Kabinett wine-beauty in 5- 10 years, today it is admittedly infanticide, nevertheless this Felseneck leaves a lasting impression! A very reasonable price tag for this VDP Große Lage Kabinett, 15€ ex S-F, *(***)

Some reduction on the nose. Bright, pure fruit on the nose. Very vibrant and fresh on the palate, intensely mineral, good fruit. A little lean at this stage. 91-92+
