I chose this wine to have with the dinner. There are white flowers with hints of citrus on the nose. The palate is floral, citrus and hints of guava. The finish is moderate to long. This is definitely not a West Coast chardonnay but it is very enjoyable.

I typically don’t rate any white in the 90s but I loved this…it went well with the fish we had tonight and wished we had more bottles…lovely floral and citrus notes…but just damn good.

The nose on this wine is wild white flowers, Todd called it plumeria which is even better. Really attractive - great wine. There was a hint of anise at the backend and that led me down the euro path. Good acidity balanced with the fruit. I think the little Sauvignon Blanc blended into the Chardonnay adds the extra dimension. This would be amazing with seafood.
Not the best QPR in the world... hey, it's a Gaja.

Very similar to my notes of last summer - we served alongside our Sunday night sushi I really enjoyed this wine. Citrus flowers on the nose. The palate was citrus, white flowers and a touch of mango. Finish was moderate to long.

After my first pick for a dinner wine wound up being used for cooking I chose this wine to have with the bronzino. There are white flowers with hints of citrus on the nose. The palate is floral, citrus and hints of guava. The finish is moderate to long. This is definitely not a West Coast chardonnay and my wife was not a fan at all as she prefers the big oaked variety. Oh well I enjoyed it so to each their own.

Laser like focus and acidity. Tons of energy in this wine. Bright citrus, some almost chalkiness to the wine from a texture standpoint. Slightly reductive considering the time in barrique.

Gaja Tasting (Knightsbridge): Retailer tasting. Chardonnay with just a bit (5%) of sauvignon blanc. White fruit with a subtle dirty undertone that I find distracting. Orchard fruit palate. Medium+ finish.

Woho! $100 a bottle chardonnay. From serralunga and barbaresco. Good minerality, good precision. But for $120... hmm... lots of good white burgundy out there for that price.

One of the most structured white wines I've ever tasted. You wouldn't immediately flag this as a Chard, because the 5% of Sauvignon Blanc tends to sing pretty loudly. Still, this is, like all great Italian wines, meant to be enjoyed with food.

One of the first Chardonnay planted in the area. Rossj is a nickname for Giovanni sister. Bad is low. The pheasant indicates a different kind of wine. It indicates and range of wine that are meant to be easier and more approachable and drinkable. So drink young. They can age Giovanni says but you won’t get the same big change.
Lemon curd and salty minerality. Rich and crisp on the palate. Lots of power and minerality. That is good stuff.

What grape is this? Tastes leesy, but not with the quickness of SB, lots of texture. Hmm...
