Moden og utviklet nese. Gul frukt med noe nedfallspreg, skifer og regnvær. Fyldig og sødmefull i munn med fortsatt god syre. Pen lengde. Fullmoden nå, men 20 år er ingen problem for god Kabinett.

This wine showed signs of mellowing due to a few years of bottle age. Mineral, apple and a nice sweetness. Consumed before a 2005 of the same wine. Very different profile. The latter was more fruit forward with petrol on the finish compared with the older bottle. Both were very nice and enjoyed with our favorite local Thai food.

In the mood for something crisp and refreshing I pulled this. Be careful what you ask for...
Rainwater on rocks, polished steel and crisp green apple armotics give way to barely off-dry, mineral dense, lime and apple skin flavors. This is about as austere as good, young kabinett gets, and delicious for all its lack of exuberance.

One of the most closed bottles of riesling I've ever had. Almost clear in color - like water. The first glass after opening the bottle reluctantly revealed aromas of peach and brown sugar. There was absolutely nothing on the palate however until the finish, when some high acid peaked through along with some of the flavors that I suspect are hiding deep down. I vigorously decanted the remainder of the bottle, which seemed to help the wine fill out a bit and allow some nice flavors of apple pie and nuts to come out. I think this wine has excellent potential, but it's not worth drinking at the moment. I don't plan on touching another one of my bottles until about 2010. I'm curious to see how this one develops.

Herb and spice style riesling, very nice but a bit too unassertive today
