Shy nose of dark chocolate and candied cherry, med + acidity, med length, smooth and well integrated tannins, wondering if would further develop tertiary notes

Single blind tasting Ruby color, filtered Aromatics are medium +. Earth, evergreen and crisp fresh red fruit Palate is medium. Tannins medium +, rough in character on the gums and roof of mouth. Acidity medium +. Earth, chalk and secondary cherry. Length is medium + with balance leaning more towards the tannins than I remember from my last tasting. While I still like the wine, usually I would have expected a little more fruit on the palate.

Dark violet color with mild clearing Medium plus aromas of ripe cherry/ cranberry and forest floor - nice Medium palate of red fruit and minerality Medium sandy tannins and medium plus acidity Palate doesnt hold up to expectations on the nose, thus not warranting a better score

Dark cherry, some vanilla, wet rocks and violets on the nose. Great acidity and minerality on the palate. Finish falls off just a bit. Great with food (leftover thanksgiving turkey and trimmings). Terrific QPR!

Is there anything this winemaker cannot do well? This is not modern nor a natural wine style but what I call a rustic artisanal winemaker. Loads of blackberries and smoke and leather with blueberries on the nose. Palate a bit more subdued but still full bodied. Very promising but I’d wait 3 years for it to flesh out.

I will echo Matt’s note from August but will add that this improved on day 2 gaining more harmony with a seamless acid and tannin structure; very tasty.

Aromas of black cherry, crushed stone, pressed violets, sweet licorice, leading into layers of mineral-driven spicy black fruit on the palate. Round and smooth structure, with medium acid and broad medium tannins. Finishes with lingering anise and paprika spice notes. Very nice.
