Hay yellow; peach; nice rounded body, some lightly sweet notes, ripe pear; really nice match with chicken in sweet and sour sauce and rice; a really nice rounded rich wine with sufficient acidity; quite likeable

Light yellow; somewhat muted nose, white pear, some vanilla; rounded lightly sweet attack, pleasant rich “thick” aftertaste with nice sufficient acidity to keep it all together; well balanced, really nice, excellent taste

Seems off-dry to me. More of a sipping wine, allowing the wine to unfold on the palate. Initially very herbal and chamomile, and then unfolding to pear and apples, oxidized. I would have enjoyed a bit more fruit.

Tasted after 2016 Pinot Gris Estate. Very herbal, dense, layered. Notes of pear, yellow stone fruit, hints of minerality. Pretty heavy and a little alcoholic on the palate. Long. 89-91

Hay yellow; honey and pear; rich and rounded with intense (too) burning aftertaste, sour notes throughout with a bit of sweetness in the back; could be good with richness etc but seems somehow out of sync

WineBox 10y - Master class – ‘Alsace: Fruit & Terroir – Side by Side’- Jean-Frederic Hugel: 2/3 of the crop coming from limestone bringing elegance, 1/3 from clay for power Clean fresh nose on the fruity side. Body – full, intense, oily, powerful but well balanced, finishes very long. Balance is impeccable, the alcohol 15% alc – global warming is felt in Alsace as well.

Somewhat oxidized and highly traditional style of wine, but apparently at winemaker's control. Seems barrel aged in a neutral oak for several years, dense viscosity, rich straw with hint of cloudiness. Weighty neutral fruit and low-florality honey needing more interest otically, sweet palate impression dusted with mint powder, and fine length. With the right dish this could be an inspired wine. Now through 2022.

Again complexity on the nose with dried fruit rather than fresh fruit. Grapefruit and other citrus fruit like lemon as well as pineapple and toast. Medium + intensity on the nose and off-dry on the palate with medium + acidity. Amazingly medium+ finish and medium + body.
