deep red purple color, aggressive nose, peppery blackberry jam, a bit of heat, on the palate jammy and exciting, licorice, blackberry, smooth large mineral streaks, great long finish, textured, big and burly but never overdone, raw leather notes with time, the evident heat on the nose at opening dissipates, this is quite and its evolution in glass suggests more complexity may come with additional age.

The last of half a dozen bottles, and this was far and away the best showing for this wine yet. The first bottles seemed big, muted, tight and a bit nondescript. It was one of those wines I'd pull because they had to be drunk up. The past couple/few years, they've been improving. This bottle was much more savory than fruity, with a very expressive nose and medium long finish. If I'd known it would age this well, I'd have bought more and kept my mitts off them longer.

Great value. Dark with good perfume. Powerful and smooth. Great finish. My idea of what a great Syrah from California should be like, and much better than some more expensive wines.

Good. This bottle got lost in the bottom of my cellar. It aged into a beautiful, smooth, rich, lingering syrah. Just wonderful. A bit of a fruit-bomb quality, but it is so good.

This was the best showing for this wine of several bottles consumed. Still big, but this seemed a bit less monolithic than previous bottles, with some hints of savory notes to balance the fruit

Good. Big grape-y fruit bomb when first opened. It calms down and is more subtle with some air. Quite nice and restrained the second day. Alcohol content is high, but well integrated.

Mucho better this time around, last one of course! A PNP, dark broding fruit, ripe and fairly well balanced, a high ABV is the only downside here, Clocking in @ almost 16%...yikes. Anyway drink with decant thru 2024. A re buy.

A pleasant quaff.....it has developed some bottle bouquet and seems. Sufficient structure for balance, but probably not enough for more than short to mid-term cellaring

I feel like giving a straight 90 is such a cop-out, but this wine is just that. Easy livin'. Not bad, not great.
It's a bit fruit forward and a little concentrated, but without enough tannins to make it go the distance. Fairly plush 30 minutes in. Dark fruits and a little peppery. I like.

I felt mislead on this purchase by Last Bottle (first time for that). This has absolutely nothing to do with northern Rhône Syrah, and it in reality quite a heavy/clunky/fruit-forward California Syrah. Just not really my thing, but brought it to a BBQ and people seemed happy enough.

Good. Fruity nose. Some Syrah spice, but the Viognier adds fig jam flavors on the finish. It's a big, juicy, grape-y, fruit bomb. It needs grilled red meat to rein it in.

Vinturied w/decant, I was expecting more, not sure why? Deep in color, intense blue fruit, meaty nose, med- body and lacking depth on the finish. 2 hours later It held together but barely, it might be in a transition at this point. Give it a couple more years?

Heavy, clunky, nothing to do with Côte-Rotie as advertised by Last Bottle. Quite disappointed with this, even for the seemingly low price. First time I've found a big mismatch with Last Bottle descriptions and my own impression.

Was very surprised at this. Needs a year or three to hit some kind of stride, but still showed very well at this primary age. Too fruit forward to cellar for more than a few years (IMO), but should peak in a couple of years.

Boom! Highly extracted, brooding, hot, fruit bomb. The jammy, glycerin, glass and mouth-coating sweetness, with a hint of earthy funk, drinks decently well on its own, but would pair well with marbled meat. Okay after PnP, but better after two hours. Definitely not northern Rhone in style.

Good/Very Good. I was unimpressed when I popped and poured. I stuck the cork back in 2/3 bottle. The next night it was a big jammy fruit bomb, mostly blackberries and cola, with a long finish. Let it open up and it's really good.

Opened about 2 hours before serving, a few degrees below room temperature. About 35 folks tasted his wine in an open tasting of 8 syrahs and shirazs and it appeared to be the crowd favorite. Big, fresh, red fruit/froral, nose; smooth on the palate with some complexity; satisfying, long finish. A QPR at $17. a bottle!

A bit floral and plum on the nose. Black fruit flavor, a hint of smoke. Savory, silky tannins and a really long finish. I am really enjoying this one.

Big, bold, wonderful Syrah blend. While we sipped it after dinner, it would clearly pair well with red meat. Glad I bought several.
