Deep crimson. Dusty nose -- earth, mint, hint of cedar, tobacco. Initial notes of chocolate and currants. Nice mouthfeel. Simple on the palate with a short finish. Nice structure. On the downslope.

Nice smooth, creamy texture here of blackberry and plum fruit with milk chocolate notes throughout. Soft tannins now with a nice long finish. Last bottle of this vintage for me, probably good timing.

the nose is excellent. fruit and slight leather. the color is a beautiful dark purple/black. very little sediment in the bottle. the palate is pleasant, but has limited complexity and overall lacking. I believe it has several more good years in the bottle. It may open up with some more time or may fizzle out.

Good Oakville fruit, firm tannins, cassis. Aged to its peak--I doubt more time will yield a better balance of fruit and tannin, but it's structure should keep it performing well for another couple of years.

Decanted for an hour. Wonderfull blackberry on the nose. Plum, blackberry, currant, and spice on the palate. Fine tannins on the finish. It's drinking great right now. Perfect with ribeye. Just what you'd expect from a high quality oakville cab.

I would agree with Big Tarheel that this wine is tight. It is young and I am predicting it will be a sleeper that many of you will pass on because it wasn't blended for immediate consumption. Are we possibly getting too impatient for great wine ?

Wines in Las Vegas: Last wine of the night, and although I am generally not a fan of California Cab, Paradigm continues to impress me. Just like prior vintages, this showed clearly ripe fruit, but it never crossed the line to fruity and cough syrup. On the contrary, it was balanced, with good acidity and some of that hallmark Rutherford dustiness. Velvety texture with some chocolate on the finish was great. I can see myself buying this.

Dark purple with bold smells of casis, plums, and berries. Long smooth finish, with currants, dark fruits, and berries, hint of spice. Finish lasts forever. Very smooth with coating on the mouth.

Nice tannic structure keeps this wine upright, by the end of the night the oak had settled down. Not as ripe/overripe as some, a nice wine with one foot in the old world

Yes, it is bold and packs a wallop but this wine is way over the top. Out of 8 superstar Napa wines, the Paradigm showed the most heat (alcohol burn) and harshness. With time, this wine may even out but I can't be sure. At the price, I would say this is a pass.

I don't understand any bad press on this wine. After 2 hours in the decanter it was loaded with rich black fruit and smooth tannins and had at least a 45 second finish. Not as knock down wonderful as the 04 Staglin, but better than an 89!!
