Pleasant and food friendly at a great price point. Soft cherry and red rose, with medium tannins and dried oregano adding a bite at the finish. As see this as a great option for larger gatherings and outside dining.

Surprised by the fruit forward nature of this wine with dry short and concise tannins. Surprisingly drinkable on pnp and got smoother with air in glass.

I served this wine straight from the wine fridge at 55 degrees. It had a nice nose of dark chocolate cherries and the pleasant first tastes across the palate were cherries, blackberries and plums with a moderate finish of dark chocolate. As the wine warmed up, the plums turned to prunes and the taste became a touch bitter. The tannins which were present turned a bit unpleasant and were accompanied by a strong alcohol finish.

Color: very dark purple. Taste: first impression: a bit thin. Later: quite sweet, red fruit. OK acidity. Juicy, with in the finish, drubk on its own, some drying tannins and not a huge, but noticeable amount of alcohol. Best with food and drunk that way: mature. Rather tasty wine, but without depth and complexity. 86-87

A ripe red-cherry aroma melds with loads of baking-spice tones: cinnamon, clove and anise. While fruit forward on the palate, with more sweet spice tones lingering in the background, this is well balanced by a slight grip of tannins. ALCOHOL 13%

1h air. Deep Ruby color. Bright aromas of sour cherry with background hints of dried herbs, clove and potting soil. Fresh, juicy and bright cranberry on entry, slightly jammy cherry in the mid palate, and a spicy and warm finish where the gently structured tannins emerge.

Dark inky purple in color. Nose of raspberry, dark fruit, leather. Silky in texture with medium body. Flavors of strawberry, blueberry, light tan in and a long rich finish. Was not impressive after first opened and had to let open up over about an hour. Enjoyed it more after dinner was done! Need to buy more of this. Good value at $16.

1 hour slow ox. Nose: Fragrant and floral aromas of cherry. Palate: Soft styled and red fruited this cheapie Montepulciano d’Abruzzo hits the spot. Always good QPR if purchased for $11 or less a bottle. 88+ points.

Having enjoyed this at a tasting a few weeks back, I was pleasantly surprised to find it a small chain off licence in Ongar at a reasonable price. Didn't fins a strong nose, but a hint of black cherry was there, and followed that in the taste. Lighter than I was expecting, medium body at best, with smooth tannins, but little lingering finish. May improve with age, but drinkable, and consummed along with a pasta dish with a somewhat spicy chicken/tomato sauce - Would drink again, and at the price range, definitely worth a try.

Great value. A wine that could literally go with anything. Had with Alaskan rockfish, and sides of onion, garlic, tomato, spinach and rice. Light-medium bodied. Reddish-purple hue, violet, plum, spice, coffee. Only 13% alcohol. Fresh, lively, dry, good acidity, nice finish. Should drink well for another 3-5 years. Definitely getting more. 88-90 points

Candy like sweet aroma, licorice and strawberry taste, without the sugary sweetness. Purple hue with transparent band at the edge. A nice light break from the heavier Brunello de Montepulciano.

Dark, aromatic fruit. Solid oak backbone, with prominent tannins and acidity. This is one of those Montepulcianos that might be better with more age. If I had another bottle, I’d hold it for 3-5 years and see what happens.

Tasted it at a dinner party. Excellent value for the money. Indeed between 3.5 and 4 out of 5, probably closer to 4. Nicely balanced with a bit stronger acidity than I would want but definitely not disturbing - might improve with time. Aromatic and in general bit on the sweet side particularly in the aftertaste that was enjoyably longer than other 'higher' class wines. Couldn't appreciate the nose well (running nose) . A very good option for any gathering.

Restrained nose with some dark fruit. Medium bodied, supple and acidic, smooth tannins, showing subtle dark tart fruit with licorice emerging with more time in the glass. Initially tight and a bit simplistic but needed some air to come around. A food wine par excellence.

Tight, spicy, liquorice and brooding black cherry. Palate is tightly packed with fruit, followed by chocolate. Good acidity, balance, better in a couple of years.
