Short decant. Huge nose of blueberry pie, vanilla, and clove-infused chai. Super-ripe in the mouth. Warm blue fruits, cream, and a hint of charcoal. Sweet tannins with huge concentration and length. You'll be happy if you like this candy-like style but for me it's a bit over-done. Will not improve but will hold.

Double decanted; moderate sediment. Inky red color. Prominent nose of blueberries, leather, black pepper and menthol. Full-bodied, nearly jammy, peppery dark fruit and lively acids on the palate. Tannins not apparent. Long finish with peppers dominant some heat (15.1% alc.) Would rate this a couple of points higher with a gentler finish. Should drink well for several more years.

Dark red, dense & opaque, a fine example of big Australian Shiraz, complex nose with loads of dark fruits, cherry, anise, spice and pungent, on the palate it exhibits good concentration, dense fruits, black berry, plum, oak anf and peppery notes. Medium to full bodied, firm structure, great length of finishing with notes of spice. Firm tannins, still have potential to age well in 3-5 year.

inky black. hot, complex nose with black pepper, vics vapo rub, ripe plums, tar, sour cherry, new leather interior, shoe polish, you get the idea.. Blast of black pepper hits the tongue, followed by the black fruit at mid palate , medium tannins with vegetal brightness followed by long minty-blackberry, bell pepper finish (60 sec). Overall impressive wine. Huge. Different from most blockbuster Oz shiraz because the peppery, minty and vegetal notes give balance to the ripe fruit and apparent alcohol. I think this is an interesting wine which will please both wineknows and novices.

Custom House dinner (Chicago, IL): Dark reddish-black colour with lots of spice, dark fruits, menthol and a little volatile acidity on the nose. Full bodied on the palate with peppery dark fruit flavours, but the alcohol stands out in the mouth and spoils the finish with some perceptible heat.

Reddish-black in colour. This has wild, intense aromatics with tons of black and white pepper, menthol, eucalyptus and blueberry and blackberry fruit flavours showing on the nose, and notes of roasted meat emerging with time. Medium to full bodied in the mouth with bright red and dark fruit flavours and lots more spice lifted by good acidity with fine grained tannins showing on the back palate. Drinking beautifully with a clean finish showing just a tinge of warmth.

Super spicy, black pepper, some eucalyptus/menthol, green herbs, deep dark fruit, we quite liked this and will pick up a few more bottles. I'd like to set these aside for a while to see how they age. They are quite good now, don't necessarily need the age -- highly rated by RP, good QPR at $28.

Very nice - needs soem time. Good dark fruits, hints of red fruit, and nice black & white pepper character. Nose a bit understated for what the wine was - came off very hot and peppery, with out a lot of fruit.

Good value, spicy with a fruitful finish. A great wine for the "none" wine drinkers because of the fruit and complexity as well as a great wine for the winelovers. Its complex, bold with a great finish and a hint of Tobacco. I preferred the Jimmys Section to this one but both great wines. Jimmys section had a more complex flavors come through over the 1 hour it was drank. However both have a great shelf life and will get better.

Liked this as a big bold Australian Shiraz...blackberry, blueberry, chocolate and a smooth, long finish

very dark and brilliant. Menthol, smoke, black fruit. Tasty, rich, viscous and generally balance.

Great color and texture with smooth tanins. Very drinkable now. Overly peppery for me but a nice wine nonetheless.
