This has its strengths and its weaknesses, neither of which are insubstantial! On the plus side, the nose is redolent of smokey Graves plum, pencil, flowers. The minus column is comprised of unsophisticated tannins, an angular palate, and a short finish.

Dark red colour with some brick-red hue. The nose shows maturity with peppery herbs and some wet soil and leather. The palate is medium with maturity and softening tannines. Nice fruit and long finish of cherries.

Vanilla, stable, bitumen, truffles, leather, very complex and no as fruity as I had hoped very mature - passed its best before date? No sure, lot more attractive than the same wine from 2009 though.

Really quite attractive and developed Graves nose - mineral, a bit of earth. The mouthfeel and finish were completely thin though. I didn't enjoy it and discontinued with this after a glass.

Typical Bdx, nice fruit, developing secondary aromas and putting on weight with time in the glass, still rather simple and short but enjoyable nevertheless. Smooth, easy drinking, classical style that pairs well with food.

Very underwhelming on the first night, with fairly green flavours and not much else going for it. After a couple of days in the fridge, it had improved consdierably. Green olives, cherries, plums, and pine on a smooth, integrated palate. Drink soon.

This one was rather disappointing - not bad but lacking in structure, and some of the previous wines were clearly better, although this one costs twice as much!

BYO with friends - Bordeaux-inspired (Mangiamo, Village Hotel Albert Court): Deep garnet, with significantly fading edges. Aromas of moss, earth, twigs, and some rather underripe red cherry. Still lots of tannins and heat, with red cherry, fern, cloves, twigs, moss, and graphite. Nice!

Wine was past its drinking date and this affected the taste. No real complexity and it tasted pretty thin. Rather short finish.

Dark brick-red colour with a mature nose showing leather, prunes and tobacco. The taste is strict and nuanced showing a very wide palate.
Was perfect with the venison and mourel sause.
