Was surprised after drinking to see that I only paid $40–this was very good. Bright fruit with enough savory spice to hold up to an andouille sausage dish. Balanced and smooth but still enough tannins to go several years

I enjoyed this more than the last bottle I opened a year ago. See my CT notes there. The flavors are gelling, and becoming a bit more subtle. Still a bit atypical for a CdP, and it fits now that I know it's 50% Mouvedre.

belle épaisseur et gourmandise. tanins déjà lissés. 75cl à apprécier jusque 2028 encore sur viande rouge ou dessert chocolaté. après 2030 pour les magnums.

Dark red color, with more black fruit than red. Stronger Syrah than Grenache flavors, which is not what I look for in a CdP. Over extracted, and not balances, but some complexity with nice dirt, hint of garrigue, moderate acidity and tannins.

Appearance: deep ruby, violet highlights, medium staining, heavy tearing, no rim variation nor sediment.
Nose: clean, medium+ intensity, developing, ripe strawberry, blackberry, bilberry, raspberry preserves, black plum, black olive, baked stone, clay, dusty earth, savory herbs, lavender, black cardamom, roasted meat, leather, fig.
Palate: dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol (15%), full body, pronounced intensity, medium+ finish, blackberry, black plum, bilberry, black olive, raspberry preserves, baked stone, dusty earth, savory herbs, black cardamom, leather, fig, date.
Overall: A rather dark-fruited CdP, but with a nice mix of earth and herbal/floral notes for satisfying complexity. It's at once very fruit-forward while also being rather savory, though the finish tends more toward dried fig. Full bodied, but well balanced with elevated yet ripe tannins and enough acid to keep the wine lively. Drinking pretty well right now, and probably not a super long-term ager, but likely will develop some more complexity in the next few years.

Purity and freshness, elegance and depth, complexity and character all form to produce a beauty. The wine is juicy, fresh spicy and full bodied, with silky, spicy, thyme and peppery finish. The wine was made with a blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Mourvedre.

The last botttle must have been an aberration because this was good. Rich and thick but not over-extracted. Balanced, a little gamy, a little cola.

Not worth the money. Started out fizzy cola, then settled down. Did have good classic cdp flavors, but not too complex. Enjoyable but not great.

This bottle had lots of wow factor. Intense floral perfume and black fruit. A big wine but totally in balance. Drink or hold.
