Strawberries up front, into a thicker, somewhat chunky core with earth, baking spice and black pepper, finishes with decent length on chew and a hint of acidity.

Underripe dark berries, some sweet spice notes but firmly kept in check by freshness and acidity of the fruit, like sweet bread, slight liquorice and pleasing feeling in the nose. M Body, taste of red cherries.

Cherry, leather and, after 30-60 mins of decanting, a touch that dried fruit that can be found in Brunello. Integrated acidity. Very nice Rosso Di Montalcino. Had it with lasagna aperta.

Solid and workman like effort, pleasing cherry notes that convey a round and spherical experience. Still, given the quality of the 16 vintage and if you did a little homework, you find something a little better and for a few dollars less.

Comes across (more on the palate than the nose) as simple. Average freshness, but somewhat dull flavors; bereft of any complexity. There's a pretty purple floral note I find attractive, but not much else. Sees a bit of tonneau. An easy pass for me.

Fresh and vibrant, ripe cherry but dusty as well. Ok, it must be a fruit day because everything is smelling and tasting great. Classically styled.

A bit smoky or rubbery on the nose. A bit of red fruits on the palate with good medium structure and tannins. Medium finish.

Good color and nose. But no complexity and flat fruit. Not worth drinking.

Leitz / Argiano tasting (Wijnkoperij Henri Bloem, Utrecht, NL): Retailer tasting, brief note. From sandy, alluvial soils, six months in botte. Displays lovely purity and complexity, light but intense, balanced and with good length.
