Last bottle brought out on our wine industry dinner. First hour it was super tight like it hadn’t seen any air ever. Took an hour to unfurl and the nose evolved over time. Lovely and it’s all still there. Will get better.

Solid village wine. Took about an hour to come into its own, but got continuously fresher. Red fruit with a hint of orange peel, floral, a bit of spice. Good balance and solid depth for the level. Finish feels a little short, but otherwise solid.

Bottle had a musky brett top note that did blow off after decanting and some air. After that some dark red and black fruits with some wood toast. Palate was more black cherry and menthol with medium acidity and medium plus finish. Will let these sleep a while before revisiting, at least 1-2yrs.

Bu à la signature. Beau vin qui pinotte, on s`attend à ça pour les quelques 117$ demandé, un peu plus de chair et de profondeur aurait augmenté le score mais un beau vin tout de même d`un producteur de renom.

'16 Red Burgundies (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): The main parcel is from Les Argillières, a lieu-dit that directly abuts Musigny on its northern border. The rest is from Les Maladières, Les Mombies, & Les Nazoires.
N: SMOKE, bacon fat, with berries quite underneath?
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which, without ever losing contact with the frt, fairly seamlessly morphs into a LONG, BALANCED finish with perhaps a very, VERY slight bitterness & a delightful tangy/swtness to the dusty tannins. Deserves/NEEDS through '20, then at least approaching its 10th. My EXC, more eventually? Gold & Trophy_Points_96 @ '18 Int'l Wine Challenge, and 88-91 pts Burghound. [This vendor's $83.95 is now in the top 40% of wine-searcher's WILDLY skewed entries!]

N: Vanilla, earth, spice, with berries WAY underneath? Flowers with swirling? Intensity lurking?
P: LM, poss Med, body; Rndish entry with NICE frt quickly met by an astringent pucker which fairly seamlessly transitions into a LONG, still VERY slightly puckerish, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with notes of a swtness to come. NEEDS through '21 (I'm guessing), then drinking for the ff 5-6 yrs? My EXC-/EXC, & I could WELL be underrating. 88-91 pts Burghound. [This vendor's $83.95 is a stunning $15 < the lower of wine-searcher's 2 entries!]

Nice pinot but a bit closed, some reduction/a little rubber note with mostly red berry fruit. Champagne Lunner at Newport Seafood.

Le millésime 2016 en Chambolle-Musigny (appellation communale ou "villages") (au Quartier Général): Un beau vin frais, élégant et typé, très classique. Il a de la finesse mais un peu moins de profondeur que les meilleurs du groupe. 89-90 pts

Pale like all 3 of the Gros reds. Light, delicate, tart red fruit. Very pure, no wood imprint at all. Good.
