Thanks to Gdub for this bottle. I think this is the 14th I’ve had over three years. A lot variation from bottle to bottle. This one was on plus side of the tacky <—>tasty scale.

Dark purple color, raspberry fruit nose, smooth balanced red berry palate with a hint if savory and developing into smoked leather toward the end. As one other taster noted, i too picked up a slight sweet hint on first taste. 100% grenache at 14.3% alcohol.

Perhaps it is because this is my first taste in two weeks, but I found this to be a bit too sweet upfront. A bit of acid on the back, so maybe it comes back together with time.

Huh. Despite being sourced from the Rocks (with added Yakima fruit) I don’t get any hint of funk or the standard Rocks notes. Not as good as the ‘14 or the better ‘15s (but way better than the bad ‘15 bottles). An easy, gluggable wine. A bit sticky upfront, some acid on the finish. Solid...brilliant for the price.

I was not amused, and suffered thru it. Worst Renegade Gre-nasty to date.

Over 2 nights. Not the best vintage to date, but still a great QPR. 90-89

Over two nights. A bit rougher around the edges than prior iterations. Perhaps some time in bottle is necessary here. Still quite good though.
