  • I was among those buying into the hype of 1996 burgundy, and having paid my dues. This wine, however, is an exception. Althoug all the primary fruit is gone, this ha wonderful aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, smoke and minerals (like the stuff you polish silverware With!). Medium to thin mouth feel, more acidity than fruit, aftertaste dominated by high acidity and some Cherry/PLUM flavours. Severeal years Beyond it's peak, but still an intriguing wine.

  • NOT a party wine. This wine will be lost if tasted with a fatigued palate. It is pure, delicate, lacy, i.e., Volnay. My only possible criticism is a slightly thin palate. This is easily overlooked when the intoxicating nose and lengthy finish is considerd. It is a significant wine that should be shared with food and knowledgable friends.
