  • Lovely light purple color, translucent. Earthy, raspberry aroma. Light and delicate on the palate with a burst of strawberry on the front of the palate. Some cherry and moist earth follows. Fine tannins, light, dancing acidity, excellent balance. Finishes light and lovely, strawberry and the barest hint of spice. A pretty wine. Ready now. Drink next 3 to 4 years.

  • Very pretty, delicate expression of this earthy fruit that Kelley Fox knows so well. I'm sad to see it leaving her portfolio of Pinots. Like practically all of her Pinots, this one has the feel of something ready to drink but the tension of fruit and acid intimates it can waft forward for many years.

  • Translucent strawberry red. Moist earth and strawberry aromas. Delicate but with weight on the palate. Strawberries, cherries, hint of spice. Fine tannins, lovely acidity, excellent balance. Picks up weight with air. Nice minerality. Finishes long, delicate and red-fruited. Drink next 4 to 5 years. Delicate and lovely.

  • Accidentally opened my last bottle. Darker in color than most KF wines but a pretty, pure, and vibrant crimson. Lovely aromatics. Definitely with stem inclusion influence on nose along with sea breeze and floral notes. Palate shows some density, mostly black cherry character but well balanced and fresh. Wish there was more complexity on the finish but that’s a limit quibble for an excellent Pinot that seems transparent to place.

  • Fresh off the truck. On the ripe side, dark colored. Subtle
forest notes on the nose. Palate is rather underwhelming given the color and ripeness—seemingly less acidic and structured than 17/18–which makes it seem a bit watery and hollow on mid-palate. Seemed to freshen up up with air. The only ‘16 I recall having from Kelly Fox. Favor the more structured’17/18’s at this point.
Better on night 2 with whole cluster notes adding a nice dimension of spiciness on the palate. Aromatics popped a little better. I was probably too hard on this on day one. Give it some air—though the expression is still unique compared to more recent vintages.

  • Riper than the 17. Brambly and for me with overripe fruit, decent florals, but the fruit is cooked to me. There's some interesting spice and while still has some decent balance, it's not what I would choose to drink in pinot. Oddly it reminded me a bit of what '03 Serralunga fruit can be. If you like a forward rich pinot, you will like this much more. For me, I'm not a fan

  • This has a beautiful heady profile of ripe bing cherry, cinnamon candies (in a good way), and wet moss in a wine that manages to be intensely flavored and yet light on the palate as it trails off into a long lingering finish.
