A vineyard that I find complicated - is it a particularly warm site as the name suggests or does the combe actually help retain freshness, and does which side of the road your parcel is on matter a great deal ? This has the succulent spice inflected fruit of Vosne Romanee - really lovely - and complex now - but also a thread of acid running throughout. Some smokiness - which is either a characteristic of the vineyard or from the wood, which is even now quite present. Resolved tannin. Very Vosne Romanee in its expression of fruit. A serious and worthy wine. No hurry to drink this. Fine plus.
I served it a little too cool which was a mistake because the wine seemed initially very informed by the vintage. This initial austerity lessened as the wine warmed.

Complex nose of red berries immediately signals high quality material. Neutral balance, youthful and full of energy, but still rather light. Multiple layers of vanilla flavors. Very long and satisfying. Sumptuos, aristocratic wine -- true to its pedigree. Fully ready to drink.

Ordered off a local restaurant's wine list. In the glass it's a pale red - not quite browning yet. Fragrant earthy nose but on the palate it's a bit of a letdown. Medium finish. Meh.

Clear, cherry red with a bit orange color on the edge. Pronounced oak with some herb on the nose. Spicy herb taste on the palate with bitter and oak background, short finish. Intense mouthfeel but less fruit character. Compared to other vintages, it is really NOT very attractive vintage.

1er crus red Burgundy - 1999 and 2001 (Frankfurt am Main, Germany): (tasted single blind) Very smoky on the nose, quite a lot of oak & toast + some vegetal aromas (herbs). Nice on the palate with a bit of oak in the background but still clear pinot. Rather powerful and strong. However a bad taste that I couldn't identify on the finish detracts from the whole experience. The finish is otherwise rather mundane. Globally not bad but not really good either.

Fully mature, balanced, complex and sophisticated. An aristocratic Vosne, as it should be.

Same occasion in HK. Not quite as good as the Mugneret Echezeaux.

An excellent bottle drinking very well right now. Nice Vosne spices with a core of sweet fruit, high acid yet well balanced. Very enjoyable.
