Drinking great right out of the bottle. Cassis, oak spice, basement, spruce and caramel mocha. At peak but might evolve. Drink now but no rush. Very satisfying.

Part of tasting with my wine group at an Indian restaurant. Soos Creek's wines have consistently shown well with the spices in their food. It was our last wine of the night, which may affect my perception but this was my favorite of the night. Medium+ body, with a nice mix of florals and minerals. Some years I don't care for the Ciel du Cheval cuvee, especially compared to other Soos Creek wines, but the 2015 is a hit!

This is great stuff, still probably a year away from peak for me. Cherry, tobacco and some nice slight vegetal on the nose with dark cherry and plum on taste. Perfect tannins for me. Soos Creek never disappoints for me, especially for the value.

Drinking 1 point better than 18 mo. ago but still not at peak. I predict this will hit 92 pts two years from now but I suspect that's the ceiling. Pretty great mystery offering from Garagiste at $20. Wine Searcher says I can get the '18 for $35. A fair price but nothing I'll jump at.
The '14 didn't have enough sulphur and developed a secondary fermentation. Kudos to Soos Creek for reaching out to me and shipping me a replacement bottle based solely on my CT review, it was very much appreciated. Cheers!

P&P, notes from day 2. Flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, licorice and tobacco, with a touch of vanilla oak on the finish. Still some decent tannic structure, but drinking very well right now. This has many years ahead too...drink now - 2030.

Still good, but this bottle is a bit disjointed. A little less fruit, a little more tannin, a little less balanced. 89-90, rounding up based on my prior note. Considering the other notes, maybe some bottle variation?
Popped this at a buddy's BBQ, but only got one glass...really nice, with great cassis, black cherry, and tobacco flavors. Can't go wrong with Red Mountain! Drink now - 2030.

Tasty wine with notes of cassis, tobacco, dark chocolate. Some definitely oak influence, and typical Red Mtn tannins. Really nice, and with some additional upside. Great QPR from Garagiste. Drink now - 2030.

Sideways dude has it wrong. This is a good wine. It’s legit.
Blackberry compote and vanilla aromas. Flavor is big, juicy marionberry initially, followed by a bit of acid, oak, tobacco. Big-ish tannins. Long finish that features starts with black fruit and fades slowly.
Deep ruby. Ripe purple fruit, spice, vanilla. Medium body. Med-low acid. Grippy tannin. Drank without decanting. Much better on day two. Could improve over the next couple years.

Not decanted. I think Tanzer's 90 on this wine was a bit too low. This was rocking. The Ciel du Cheval structure and tannin was surely there, but this is great right now. Slight coffee scents amidst the copious black fruit. On the palate, it's still chewy, but the blackberry and currant fruit just rocks into a long finish. Could improve, but not by much. Will definitely hold for a while.

Popped and poured using aeriator. Delicious wine that could definitely benefit from some time in the cellar but is drinking just dandy right now. Wonderful full nose of fruit and wine cellar. Just rich and full on the palate. Going to be better too. Nice.

Nice blend that is just beginning to hit its stride. Good balance of the varietals as well as fruit and acidity. Solid.

Deep color. Long finish. Tannic and lacking fruit to balance the finish.

Moderate earthy hot nose. I really like this wine- big fruit, spice and lip smacking tannins but made more in the GSM style than Bordeaux.

Ciel du Chevel grapes made into a fantastic and affordable representation of Red Mountain. I highly recommend the sh!t out of this wine.

Nice fruity musky nose. Very enjoyable, well balanced, fruity and somewhat tannic- still seems young. Not Bordeaux like, but a great effort.

Beware the numerous high scores from 1 user here, this wine is a hot mess. Super concentrated oak overpowers the fruit. Virtually undrinkable.
A terrible offering from Garagiste here.

Cut grass, cassis, Cherry-Vanilla Coke, pencil shavings, coffee. Medium-full body, acidity and tannins. Should improve another point in two years.
