- Garnet color and aromas of black currant, fig and black pepper. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper, cherry, black currant and fig with a full body. Leathery texture with a long finish - Decanted 90 minutes. Heavy alcohol nose at first, let is breathe. Big, bold and spicy tannins. This wine can age even longer. 3-5 years.

Purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of roasted meat, currants, plums and white pepper. Flavors of boysenberries, raspberries and plums. Medium acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or hold.

Simply stunning for the price...reduced at CA$36 LCBO back in May 2020.

Certainly good quality grapes here. This wine is made in a style that I don’t prefer. It was pretty sweet and extracted with a lot of oak. If you enjoy that style of wine, this is up your alley. This wine is ready to drink over the next 5 years. Not for me, but I wanted to give it a decent score since the quality was there.

This is just outstanding Malbec. Dark brooding fruit on the entry with some dirt and cedar. Extremely fine peppery tannins, lovely linger and pucker, so pleasant. Just enough acid to balance MOST of the entry, but the entry and tannins ultimately linger the most. Tasty and unique stuff.

Love this wine. Popped and poured. Awesome rich ripe cedar, stewed cherry and meat nose. Just enough mid-section chewiness that lingers long enough to connect with the bing cherry that peaks out with the finish. I’m not sure aging would help at all, I love the fine tannic structure as it is, less of that might not help it.

P: LM body; ATTRACTIVE, ALMOST swtish frt met by astringent pucker which evolves into a LONG, poss still very, VERY slightly puckerisn finish with a swtness to the dusty tannins. NEEDS through '21 potentially to show elegance, then making its 10th. 14.5% ABV; My EXC. 93 pts Suckling, 92 Vinous (Tanzer), 91 WS, Silver_Points_90 @ '18 Int'l Wine Challenge, & 89 WA. [This vendor's $31.95 puts it in the top 1/3 of wine-searcher's listings.]

Massive wine! Chocolate, vanilla, and blackberry on the nose. Definitely drinking young. Lots of oak on the palate and the high OH tames down with air and time. Thick wine with a medium plus finish. Not my style, but decent value.

I served this in my wine course. Nose of over-ripe plums. Very rich mid palate. Candied finish is a bit over the top. Best to drink well chilled. Went well with smoky pork cheek.

Pours a dense blackish - red to the stem. Inviting nose of rich dark berries, soil, cassis, and a refreshing floral quality. Very rich and satisfying on the palate, but almost pushed the envelope with a candied sweetness to the fruit. It might benefit from a few years horizontal to mitigate the fruit expression and shed the baby fat. This wine will be a crowd favorite for many.

N: Closed; RIPE berries with notes of smoke & prazines
P: Med, poss MF, body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by a puckerish astringency which does QUITE resolve by the END of the LONG finish with a tangy/swtness to the very, VERY fine tannins. For now IF one can get by the current mid-P; Otherwise cellar through '20, then drink for 3-4 yrs more. 14.5% ABV; My EXC-. 93 pts Suckling, 92 Vinous (Tanzer), 91 WS, Silver_Points_90 @ '18 Int'l Wine Challenge, & 89 WA. Paul Hobbs tasting….
A little more savory than the 2019
Cassis, plums and figs. Tannins starting to shed a bit.
