Color: Bright and clear yellow. Lighter then straw, and not buttery or canary. No signs of over age. Strong legs.

Aroma: typical lighter French nose, wet stone, bright citrus, maybe a nonspecific floral note.

Taste: bright citrus. Flinty. Notes of Apple. Pear. Balanced minerality. Lightest touch of tannin. Acidic. A little creamy on the finish. Finish is notable for its length. Powers through cheese or cream sauces well. Inoffensive mouthfeel. Well balanced.

We search for excellent and sometime we miss or under appreciate the basics done very well. Supposedly in its prime age zone. I’m thinking another year might be interesting? I cook a lot and I would
pair almost any fish or cheese sauce I make with this. I would buy more of this wine and it would make a superb daily drinker for the next 1-2 years.

  • Good balance and complexity for the price, featuring citrus, apple, and wet rock on the palate buoyed by lively acidity. But it also has surprising weight, with subtle buttery notes weaving in. Excellent QPR for the region.

  • Right up there with a nice Pouilly-Fuissé. Light golden color, honeyed nose. Malolactic apparent in the nose and taste gives it sophistication. Great acidity makes it literally mouthwatering.

  • Not bone dry with a discreet honeyed undertow but enough fresh, mainly citrus, white fruit, minerals and acidity to produce a refreshing and very agreeable wine. I doubt whether there is much mileage in this wine but good right now.
