Discovered this wine earlier this year and it is a real find. The opposite of your typical oaky, buttery California Chard. Full mouth feel of tropical fruit and some deep trout gulch mineral (joke). Ready to drink now without decanting. Have no idea if it will age but hope to find out.

Excellent bottle of California Chard. I am not finding the butter that many taste but it is full of yellow fruit, sea shell, a touch of Indian spice and a long finish. I will buy more and see how it ages.

Another quality chardonnay from the Santa Lucia Highlands! Yellow gold in the glass. Aromas of citrus fruit, peach and pineapple upon swirling. Flavors of candied fruit, mango, apricot and lemon cream. Rich, clean and balanced with some mineral touches deftly intertwined, leading through a medium-length, satisfying finish. And yes, there is a buttered popcorn flavor at the end! Excellent wine.

Silk1969’s note below is generally apt for us. We will add: this is in balance, not overdone, and also shows a touch of mineral and earth. Highly enjoyable over three nights.

Spicy, buttery oak takes the initial lead, with a mélange of tropical fruits and lemon curd filling in. Acidity starts to pop, and papaya, apricot, and lemon commingle through the medium-long finish. Solid.

Very tangy up front and fruity. It’s a decent Chardonnay with some very interesting notes at the end. I can taste apricot, then it is nice and fruity to a bit of acidity, then I swear I taste just a hint of butter (barely) but then popcorn. I tried it another time and thought maybe it was a wafer taste at the end but I swear I can taste popcorn at the end. It’s probably just me though.

A hallmark of SLH chardonnay is that they have lots of tropical fruit, a nice middle richness in the palate, and then a retension of acidity notes Dan Morgan. And candied pineapple fruit on the palate. Does have good minerality on the back.

Past it’s prime. Just overwhelming buttered popcorn.

Second bottle and I think I have found a very drinkable California Chard. See if future vintages are as good.

Creamy still but a bit more laid back that what it was before. With some crisp minerality.

Lots of rich fruit and some oak to it. Actually, not so much oak, just good dapple of sweet fruit or sweet savory on it. Easy drinking for sure.

Tangy tree fruit palate, some oak spice/clove, a little creaminess. Very nice wine, but I feel like it’s identity is getting thin.
