Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Somewhat short and crumbly cork, but the wine still sound.

Still pretty youthful claret colour with no meaningful signs of age at the rim.

A somewhat subdued nose, more savoury than sweet, with black olive, mocha sitting to the fore of blackberry/blackcurrant fruit

Decent acidity on the palate, bringing brightness to the fruit (plum joining the other fruits from the nose). In contrast to the nose, it's the fruit that dominates the palate, with perhaps just the black olive coming through to add complexity. Relatively faint tannins remain, with most grip coming from the acidity.

Overall a very decent wine, with potential upside. Will it gather more complexity in that ageing? Difficult to be sure, and I don't think the nose held any hint of what that might be.
