Well balanced and complex mix of red fruit, spices and underbrush. Medium(+) intensity on the nose. Lovely with duck breast. Would have wanted a bit more power on the palate than Santenay usually delivers.

Fifth time drinking this one. Pleasant wine, a bit more on the nose this time. It is smooth and elegant, nice with food. Evi thought worth the step up from our everyday PNs. Worth ordering.

A very good QPR 1er cru red burg. 60 minute splash decant. Paired well with home made duck confit (getting better at that dish if I do say so myself). Sacrilegous as it sounds but this is a great "swilling" 1er cru Burgundy. Overall a very enjoyable regular quaffing candidate without breaking the bank. ($40) From here on it it will be PnP as it no longer needs air to open. In a great drinking window. Drink or hold for at least another 5 years.

Two hour gentle decant. "Traditional Jambon beurre" with gruyere sandwich for dinner. (high fat butter and good crispy baguette). Refreshing bottle of wine. Good balance of fruit and acid. Stared to thin out at hour 3+ ... but still very enjoyable. In future I will give it 60-90 minutes of air. Expect this to get better. Good QPR. You can really "cheat" and get this to a 93+ pointer with the correct food like crispy skin roast duck. Tempted to buy more as they are still available at $40.

Rubis.

Nose: Cherry sauce, cut roses, light reduction on pop (rubber balloon)
Mouth: A deep well of exceedingly pure cherry coulis and crushed currant glides silken across the palate, framed by rose stem notes and manicured tannins. The fruit leads elegant tinges of white spice, loam, and crushed rock that support the long, fine grained finish.
Overall: While the flavors are not hugely complex or various, the depth and purity of the fruit at this level is pretty remarkable. Drinkable now but additional development would be nice to see, especially as some of the garden notes continue to jut out and the tannins could continue to retreat slightly. Drink now - 2030.

Good nose of plum and blueberry. A nicely balanced wine. Bit short finish but really good wine and great QPR.

Similar notes but now with more complex layer of flavours. 60 minute gentle decant. Down to my last few bottles. Great QPR.

Nose is dirt and barnyard. Taste is chalk followed by acid. Finish is flat a bit disappointing.

Beau Clos Rousseau riche, très terrien, à l'élevage déjà intégré.
Fruit superlatif.
