  • A reasonable QPR at our acquisition cost. Would not immediately place this in Napa Valley but also definitely not in New Zealand either - not that level of acidity, citrus and lemongrass. Clean, crisp, pale yellow with an initial zing out of the bottle which settled down quickly. Probably has another 1-2 good years with proper cellaring but not built for any kind of long haul. Nose bright and acidic with a hint of bubbles / effervescence and yellow lemon. Palate a bit warmer with orange and citrus but also mango and white peach. Virtually no aftertaste at all. Recommend this for lovers of a clean, crispy and lean but not overly citrusy and lemongrassy NZ style of SB.

  • Medium plus nose shows clean style, straw, white flowers, persimmon, lemon zest, wet stone. Palate adds new notes, more tropical, kiwi, mango, orange peel, candied guava, citrus finish. Acidity medium plus, alcohol integrated (13.8%), dry finish. Tasty and versatile.
