This seems to be starting to decline. Glad I opened our last bottle. The previous two over the last two years were more in alignment with previous notes. This one did eventually open up somewhat, but even that was after a few hours. Drink up!

We've had many vintages of this label over the years and I believe this vintage, at this age, tonight, was the best ever - in its sweet spot, at the apex of its drinking window! Tasted at Pour Boys end of summer (23) wine dinner. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2023/09/pour-boys-end-of-summer-23-wine-dinner.html

Have not tried this wine in almost a year. Peaches, pears, a touch of pineapple, and a hint of vanilla as well as lightly oaked made this a really nice bottle of wine.

Sunday night sushi was the dinner for this wine. Peaches, pears, a touch of pineapple, lightly oaked made this a very nice bottle of wine. Last months bottle had tinges of vanilla on the finish which were missing from this bottle but the pineapple was back.

Different than the previous bottles I had during the winter. White flowers and hints of vanilla on the nose. The palate was floral with tropical fruits and vanilla. Vanilla dominated the finish. Served with Sunday night sushi.

This was a really nice chardonnay served alongside our Sunday night sushi. Pale yellow in color Lots of fruit on the nose. The palate was peach, guava and hints of pineapple. The finish was moderate to long.

Fantastic. We are getting aromas and flavors that I don't usually get in Chardonnay. There are great dimensions to this wine. We were so happy to enjoy this on Christmas.

Somewhat closed nose showing gummy pear and apple and maybe some cooking spices back there The palate was rich, full bodied and mouth filling with honey, toasted almond, poached pears and apples and some dirty edges. Acid at Med+

Wowee! That’s a good chard. Obvious from first sip. Excellent balance of stonefruit, toasted marshmallow, Meyer lemon with a gentle tarragon finish. A subtle symphony of layers. Amazing mouth feel. Long finish. 95 pts by Robert Parker, 93 WE.

Nice, relatively light Chardonnay. Not particularly oaky. Had it with a glazed salmon which was probably too heavy for the wine (really needed to be a Pinot), but it was still pleasant.

very nice chard....this went through malo so has that rounded feel. butter while there is not overdone...bright fruits and acidity still there to make this interesting. Drink or hold

Pale straw color. Legs cling and sustain on the edge of the glass. This is a medium to heavy bodied wine. Scents of tropical fruits, minerals and vanilla. On the palate citrus and creamy butter: some Malo? But great backbone of acid so a bit confounding there. Very very balanced. Persists with harmonious interplay of fruit, acid and butter. Finally the acid wins. Very pleasing.

Lemon on the nose with a secondary note of petrol. A bit buttery on the mid-mouth, with a nice finish of honeysuckle and acidity to cut through the butter. As the wine opened up, I got a bit more pineapple than lemon; both flavors were nice. A pleasant sipper, and went nicely with chicken scarpariello that I made. I think the wine can sustain, or possible improve with a bit of time in the bottle, but I enjoyed drinking it now.

Some time in the bottle actually helped. Initially a bit sweet and buttery, a much better balance the next day with some mineral and tropical notes. Decent finish

A tight yet buttery Chardonnay that probably needs another six months to unwind a bit. Light yellow in color, medium in body, nose of lemon meringue and butter. Tastes of cantaloupe, almond, and saline, with a round and creamy finish. 14.5% alcohol. This has the acidity to balance out the creaminess, so it ends up more refreshing than I expected. This doesn't have the power or grace of the best whites from the Santa Rita Hills (done by Paul Lato and Matt Dees in my opinion), but it's a solid wine.

An elegant Chardonnay with aromas of mango, white flowers and slight tangerine. Complemented by a focused mid-palate and the refreshing cool climate acidity of their estate vineyard.

A nice, medium-bodied, slightly toasty and creamy Chardonnay. Not quite your huge Napa/Sonoma Chards, but very definitely a nice change of pace. Excellent balance.

PnP and first taste of the SS chards. Definitely rich, but everything hangs together in balance with a slug of acidity. A little hot on the finish, but I'll give that a pass because its such a recent bottling. Not over the top and I wouldn't call it buttery per se. While it tends towards the heavy end of the scale, it doesn't come close to approaching the weight of a Kongsgaard (or a Rombauer for that). More of a middleweight chard.
