Much smoother than a 15.4% alcohol wine should taste like. Aromas of red fruit with rich fresh strawberries. Medium red in color turning burgundy and translucent nearing the rim showing a bit of its age. Medium to long finish similar to the nose, giving way to citrus notes of orange with no sense of oak. Medium in body with well integrated tannins and medium+ mouthwatering acidity. Looking forward to my other bottles.

Big juicy Grenache with some complexity and length to the finish. I thought this was similar to and on a par with the Raspail Ay Gigondas that we drink a lot of.

This is the best Grenache that I have ever had rom California. Aromas of fresh strawberries, red licorice, blood orange, sage, and rosemary leads the way to the palate that is fresh and intense with great energy. Tastes of strawberries, lemon peel, and white pepper continue on the finish for well over a minute!

Flawed bottle. Looked and tasted like a 20 year old wine. I’ve had this before on several occasions and just ordered more this year. Unfortunately this seemed like it was kept outside in an unconditioned shed for years. Direct from winery so should be in pristine condition. Disappointing for sure as I was showing it off to a group to introduce them to Chiron Wines… not a great impression.
Grenache - what pinot wants to become when it grows up. this quote pretty much sums up this wine. strawberries and other red fruit. smooth and elegant tannins. shows no signs of the ABV

PnP. Wild nose of cotton candy, strawberry, and bright red fruits. Rustic strawberry, blood orange, and tart rhubarb with acidic spice, dried sage, and dried lemon peel. Acidity drives the finish with more citrus and red fruit flavors that are hard to identify. A very interesting wine that's hard to describe.

Nice vegetal character on the nose, gotta be whole cluster. Bright red fruit, like a very good Beaujolais, but with more complexity and a richer mouthfeel.

This was my first Chiron and I enjoyed it, especially with food. Lots of red fruit, no noticeable oak, and a pronounced bitterness on the back end. Before dinner, on its own, the bitter note was a little more prominent than I’d like. But, with air and paired with grilled pork tenderloin, the wine was lovely. Looking forward to exploring more from this producer.

Drinks much more elegantly than the 15.4% alcohol, as another note points out. Strawberry notes, good acidity. Maybe I would have scored this slightly better had I not just had a Halcon Grenache just a week earlier…this was good, but just lacked a savory note and long finish which places the Halcon slightly above this. Still, fun to try this expression of Grenache—it wasn’t overdone in any respect.

At 15.4% I thought this might be overly extracted but that was not at all the case. Really balanced with complex flavors. I will definitely look for more next BD!

I really like Brett's note. Super fun wine, pours like a pinot and looks the part. Bright red flavors, sharp whole cluster like tannins really give this wine lift. I wish I had given this time in decanter to see how it unfolded. This is serious wine, I have 2 more as end will be patient.

One of the most interesting wines coming from Napa Valley, Chiron’s Unfamiliar Truth Grenache is a beautiful interpretation. With focused notes of spiced cherries supported by warm earthy notes to start, this wine opens up to a wonderfully jammy profile that retains bright red flavors as well.

Strawberry, red licorice and spices cascade around a vibrant looking wine. Nice acidic backbone to balance out this beauty.
