  • Same venue, same people - by coincidence. Extremely tight wine, very true to the domaine style, stony, cool, intense - wait for it.

  • The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, cranberry, red currant and prune. It tastes like blueberry, raisin, coffee and light toast. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

  • Very typical for the vintage and the domaines stylke. Closed, intense, folkus on iron, minerals, tannins - there is a solid, sound fruit behind, but this is way, way to young. One should wait ten years, really. 91++

  • Camphor, licorice, candy red fruit, cinnamon nose. Kind of weird and I don’t love it. The palate is much better. Medium bodied, very high tannins, good acidity, strong but balanced alcohol. The flavors are similar but the camphor smell is not as strong and makes room for fresh red fruit. Astringent finish. This needs a lot more time to develop.

  • This deep ruby/red Châteauneuf is a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre. Vinturi-decanted and consumed over 2-3 hours, it requires little time in decanter to reveal red and black bramble fruit, licorice, dark plum, garrigue and tobacco aromas. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and with subtle alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it delivers flavors mirroring the nose and stays solid on the mid-palate. With silky-textured tannins and a lengthy finish, this is a delicious red that should show well throughout the decade. Drink now-2030.

  • Appearance: medium ruby, no staining, heavy tearing, no rim variation nor sediment.

Nose: clean, medium+ intensity, developing, ripe strawberry, ripe red cherry, blackberry, black plum, grapefruit pith, black licorice, lavender, fennel, scorched earth, hot rocks, worn leather, baked strawberry, baked cherry, fig.

Palate: dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol (14.5%), medium+ body, long finish, ripe strawberry, ripe red cherry, bilberry, blackberry, grapefruit pith, black licorice, lavender, fennel, scorched earth, hot rocks, worn leather, strawberry jam, baked cherry, fig.

Overall: A delightfully aromatic Southern Rhone packed with ripe red fruit flavors and aromas that are starting to develop into the baked/jammy side of the spectrum; this wine feels dominated by the Grenache. Lots of herbal and mineral tones to add savory complexity to balance out all the explosive fruit. The structure is pretty balanced, so I think this can age for a couple more years, but I do think this wine is in its prime right now and might not benefit from any more serious cellar time. Super yummy!

  • Lovely, drinkable wine. Lots of floral notes and well balanced fruit with some wood coming through on the finish. Wish i had more in the cellar!

  • Rich, polished and floral, with a sweetness to the fruit, softness in texture and freshness in the kirsch dominated finish. The wine was made from blending 90% old vine Grenache with 10% Mourvedre.
