Thanksgiving Wines; 11/27/2019-11/28/2019: Solid again. Served with Thanksgiving Turkey. Lighter style than years past. Apple, lemon, minerals and good acidity overall. Very drinkable for $10.

Missing some of the bright acidity I am used to from previous vintages of this wine. Definitely more flabby and less balanced than what I have enjoyed in the past. Still not bad especially for those who like sweeter wines.

Simpler Riesling without a ton of aromatics and palate intensity. A little green fruit on the nose, but otherwise a little indistinct. Definitely some residual sugar on the palate with notes of lime. Pleasant and easy-drinking with nothing wrong with it.

excellent value, and nice crowd pleaser for a Summer porch pounder, especially for those who like sweet wines.. nothing bitter or off-putting, even served very cold

N: Initially a bit of petrol [when 1st opened], but mostly stone frt
P: LM, poss Med, body; NICE, swtish frt (*definite* R.S.) alluringly counterbalanced by an acidity which keeps things in check into & through the LONG, BALANCED finish with attractive notes of honey. Very nicely done! Very nicely done for now & through '21 (min?), I would think. My EXC-/EXC, arguably the higher for QPR? 90 pts Suckling (Pigott), 88 WE & "Best Buy" @ $12, and 85 WS.

The wine has low acidity. The wine finishes short. It tastes like pear. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine has smooth texture.

Pale lemon-green in the glass, almost water transparent. You associate this with Mosel Riesling right away - aromatic, linear, katana-like precision. Nothing overly complex nor deep, but a superbly well-made wine for the price. Acidity loosens its grip as the wine gets warmer in the glass, so if you're serving this in a restaurant be sure to keep it chilled at all times or seek out an older vintage with may have higher acid levels.

Reviews are all over the place, I personally usually enjoy the wines of Loosen, paired this with a tower of iced seafood at Fleming’s. I found the acidity from this vintage to be a little low which allowed the sweetness to dominate the pear, green apple and peach, certainly oily and untous, just missing the acidity.

Very good entry level wine. This has pleasant aroma of lime and flowers. The palate is delicious if simple with a nice round palate of lime, pomelo, chalk with nice acidity for this kind of wine. Great value for an everyday drinker.

This is a pretty consistent bottling regardless of vintage. The '17 had the honeyed stonefruit, green apple, slate, and petrol notes you've come to expect but it also seemed a bit sweeter than previous releases. It's still a great value and a tasty wine but it lacked the cut it usually possesses.

Loved the silky mouthfeel of this wine, but it fell a little flat on flavor for me. Pale, lemon color with moderately intense nose: ripe pear, peach flesh, and zippy white pepper. Medium-dry with moderate acidity, medium- body and medium intensity on the palate: flavors match the nose.

Day six review: A rare day six review. This has been in the fridge since opening. Yes white wines can taste great after open for six days. Nice floral, orange peel, peach and flint. Nicely balanced wine. Always a winner for the price point of only $8.99.

Monthly Tasting at Wine Wizards (Wine Wizards Stockton): I had this last month with Indian food (it worked nicely) and now in a tasting line up after a Vouray. The positioning after the Vouray, gave it more definition. Still it is a somewhat innocent and a relatively simple Riesling. However it more than makes up for it's modest complexity and varietal character by its very correct clean balance, lovely palette, it's lingering fruit finish and reasonable price ($13). I also think that it may gain in depth with some bottle time.

Cabin Wines in Winter; 10/17/2018-10/19/2018: Day 1: better than the last bottle. pear, sour apple, stone and wafer. 88 points Day 2: Very similar and still features vibrant fruit. 88 points

Fitting that I am the first to review this wine. As the single biggest promoter of this wine in the US I am proud to give you this review. Day 1: Nice acidity and refreshing wine which is perfect for another 90 plus degree day in Minneapolis. Lemon, orange peel, stone and lime. Not as concentrated as the 2016 which had the classic peach character. This is very pleasant but does not approach Kabinett status as the 2016 did and exceeded many producers. While see how this pans out on day 2. Day 2: Picks up some match stick but tastes like a $9 wine. A shame compared to other vintages. 85 points Day 3: Similar to day 2. Recommendation: Try and find the 2016 of this wine.

For the price, I really enjoyed this one.
Color: Pale straw, medium to medium light body
N: Pear, apple, lime, citrus peel
P: Crisp pear, juicy green apple, citrus rind, high acidity with a little sweetness
F: Medium plus finish with high acidity and a touch of sweetness
Would pair with spicy takeout, white fish, duck, pork
