PnP. Approachable wine that added a fraction of weight by the final glass. Inviting aromas of place and grape, with avg+ complexity, a medium, understated body and developing length. May be at its best in the mid-term. Proper. HOLD for a few more years. highly recommended
With a free beautifully early drinking 2017s I was hopeful for this wine. Whilst attractive I believe this is shouting for more time. Doesn’t have the round finesse that I love in Volnay.

The color is a beautiful transparent ruby, but don't be misled: there is a meatiness to this wine that belies its origins. The delicate perfume of violets, strawberries, and herbs paves the way for deeper and more robust notes on the tongue: raspberries and cherries, but also stone, prune, mushroom, and forest floor. The acidity is strong without overpowering, lending some finesse to warm, unobtrusive tannins which let this wine linger long on the tongue. This is a wine that will benefit from age, but is no less amazing now.

Bright cherry red color with a beautiful transparency. Light to medium bodied, the wine was fresh and and paired perfectly with a fresh stream caught trout. Bright cherry fruit and savory herb. Great mouthfeel. It was lean but delivered a lot of punch. A welterweight if you will. Well recommended.

The purest of red berry fruit. Definition of red silk. Relatively open with cherry essence, raspberry, and spring flowers. Very long. Not a huge vintage but really pretty and persistent.

Pnp this right into our glasses, the spring, the sun, this awesome smell, meat, no meaty like being in the slaughterhouse with all the fresh beef halfs, earthy, on the palate this really refreshing fruit, cherry, cassis, ripe tannin, and overall this great finesse, multilayered, needs time, a lot of time, lets see how this bottle evolves over night......, great potential so far, *(***-*****), 93-95(+) potential Update 24 hours later, half bottle left, still very meaty on the nose, but now a strong fresh fragrance of cherry- and damson fruit (not plums, the freshness is the main difference!), quiet more accessible by the long slow ox in the bottle, delicate fruit again, taut, and on the other hand this velvety dance over the midpalate, what I do like best is the freshness of this whole appearance, 13,5% alcohol but you can not taste or feel this, light as a feather with a very convincing long aftertaste, nothing more to add! Same rating! Seek out for!

There is a lot of aromas going on here! Really intense and concentrated with red fruit, slightly lighter fruit-peel, lovely perfume, flowers and pepper. Pretty full-bodied wine that really has a light-hearted touch as well. Great fresh red fruit, good salts, mocha and leather. A little rough structure, but this really give the wine an extra dimension. Really detailed and a with a delightful salty finish that lasts really long. A very well made Clos des Ducs. Will not stand back for any of the last vintages. 95 points.

Easy wine to drink with strong tastes of blackberry and cherry. Very easy to drink with a slight meatiness. Very enjoyable
