super petrol nose, but after being open for 30 minutes, it’s got medium mouthfeel and loads of tropical fruits. Drinking really nice right now, possibly coming into prime drinking if you still have some left.

More tropical than a GG, but similar body and less complex. Petrol and ripe stone fruit on the nose with med plus acidity, ABV, and body on the palate. Paired nicely with beer can chicken and sweet potato hash!

The nose is lively and fresh with peaches, nectarines, pears, green apples, white flowers, candied fruit, papaya, and some saline. There is a spring-like quality to the nose that is very attractive, but it does lack some depth. The Medium bodied feel is fresh and balanced with crisp, high acidity. This is a fun and friendly domestic Riesling. It's dry, it's fresh, there's lot of tropical citrus and it fully works just for that. It does lack some depth to the nose and palate, but that's entirely fine as this doesn't come across as a Riesling to dig too deep into.

The best American Riesling in memory I can say I have ever had. The granite and limestone minerality predominate, with a touch of grapefruit and pineapple. The neutral wood does little other than add to the richness. The acidity in this exceptionally-balanced wine makes it a perfect match for many kinds of food...better to do that than as a quaffer...unless you have a second bottle! Drink now.

Have to say that Morgan and Chris have restored my taste for US made Riesling. In fact, there are a number of white wines they produce that I find quite rewarding!

More varietally correct (and successful/enjoyable) on the nose (petrol, ripe orchard fruits, hints of tropical fruits) than on the palate (a somewhat clipped and bitter finish). No detailed notes. Interesting, although not sure I’d buy again - esp. in light of the terrific and affordable old-world Rieslings out there.

Medium deep straw. Reduction and whetstone. Closed. Mineral and chalky. A hint of floral and fresh berry. Whetstone. Creamy cheesy lees. A hint of petroleum. Dry. Mineral whetstone. There is a fresh white berry profile. The petroleum carries through on the palate. Slightly phenolic. Sweet mid palate. It’s fresh. Interesting but faulty due to slight reduction.

Saturated yellowish gold. Some hints of Riesling in the nose, but not a youthful, varietal nose. A reluctant nose, somewhere between Riesling and... Albariño. Palate lacks the fruity vibrancy of German Rieslings. And it lacks the stately intensity of Alsatian Rieslings, although it is closer to those in its 13.5% ABV.
No telltale winemaking faults, but it's bland, bereft of personality, and even a bit "watery." Tried it twice over 2 days. I don't think it's justifiable to say it would work as an aperitif; that's a low bar. There are interesting Bedrock Rieslings, but this isn't one. I didn't even finish it. I'd be embarrassed to release this as a single vineyard, should have been declassified and blended into something else.

This was a delicious and well-balanced Riesling with flavors of pear, baking spices and beeswax. It was quite the bargain at $22 direct from the winery....I should have bought more.
Drink now if you have it.

Ready to drink now. First impression on opening was subtle pineapple and tropical fruit with a reasonably long finish. Did not exhibit the common Riesling petrol flavors. Wouldn’t guess Riesling if tasted blind. Outstanding first impression that wound down as we sipped the wine and let it breathe and warm over an hour or so. Anxious to try the 2018.

Similar notes to November, but shows a tiny whiff of petrol now too. I normally find this offputting, but it works here. I upped this bottle a point because it’s a bit more complex now.

Take out Chinese so naturally opened a '17 Wirz Vineyard Riesling. Fresh, vibrant, floral with that hint of petrol, creamy lemon pith, keylime, beautiful texture with just a bit of viscous semi-waxy feel, cleansing acidity and a fairly long finish. I wish I knew how this would age but I have a very hard time keeping my hands off all of the Bedrock whites I have.

Nose packed full of zesty fruit, mango, white flower (jasmine) with a whiff of fresh pine. Crisp and fruity but bone dry with slight bitterness. Delicious CALIFORNIA Riesling from 50+ year old fines. Super QPR wine.

Lemon, lime and wet stone on the nose. Nice acidity on the palate, with saline and subtle oak notes to complement the fruit. Finishes a bit short. A decent wine, but not particularly special.

The true measure of Riesling is how versatile it is. Thiese would say it is "apostolic" in nature. That nails this one for me- a wine for the simpleness of everyday. This is a quality, never intrusive rendition fitting that bill.
Deep straw hue. Faint tropical fruit, crushed dolostone. Very mineral, very dry, a bit surprisingly so. Med-short finish, clean, somewhat thin. Would continue to drink this young. Takes to food well, but by itself it is a stretch to enjoy sitting- why not try on a casual evening stroll in the crisp autumn air. B+ =50/5/12/15/7

Give this some time to breathe up. Pretty closed to start, crushed stone on the nose, citrus fruit and pith in the mouth. With time/air, a floral bouquet emerges along with a nice melange of fruit... tangerine, lemon, and pineapple. Not too ripe, nicely balanced.
