  • Quite the nice surprise, this wine is. Very handsome color, that shows maturity, and kind of a dense, opaque ruby, with some but very little transparency. Quite a sight. The nose is fantastic, because it strikes you right away with barnyard upfront, but goes well beyond, mixing it with gorgeous strawberry aromas. Quite an educated and intellectual nose. I can't get over it. Red licorice aromas as well; very nice red sensation on the nose. Very red on the palate as well, showing well beyond the cost and money's worth in fruit concentration; and there's nothing artificial here, with nice, mature structure, and a two-fold face, very distinct that doesn't really hurt the roundness. Quite an interpretable wine. Thought provoking. Delicious. Almost full bodied. Stinky. Showing roundness, structure, tangyness, and a little complexity. Finishes nicely, with persistence, and leaving you with nice "grapey", dark plum, and blackberry flavors. Nice to know that this is a varietal, and it does show "some character"!

  • This was great. Plenty of dark fruit flavor, some spice, but balanced very nicely. Need to try and find this again.

  • Spicy red fruit in a silky, open-textured package. Accents of cinnamon and clove in the aromas and on the finish.
