  • The nose of this wine is lovely, showing ripe notes, with ripe black and red fruit, balanced with green notes, loads of roasted herb, minerality, and smoke.
The mouth of this full-bodied wine is layered and richly extracted, with rich mineral focus, showing lovely concentration yet impressive control and balance, followed by layers of elegant and mouth-draping tannin, with more black olives, and green notes, with blackberry, hints of blueberry, red plum, and lovely tilled earth, and forest floor.
The finish is long, elegant, and green, with loads of roasted herbs, olives, graphite, and rich salinity that balances the wine beautifully. Drink from 2022 till 2031.

  • Dense dark purple color. Explosive jammy fruity plummy bouquet. Dense concentrated and nobody with explosive fruit flavors on the palate. Typical jammy plum flavors with hints of Earth typical of Merlot yet there is also some grape jam Cabernet flavors and influences. this is delicious now but it is very very backward and will greatly improve over time. A very impressive wine well worth having. Very good QPR. 14% ABV. Drink from 2026 to 2036.

  • Château Malmaison, Moulis-en-Médoc, 2016: The Rothschild family has completely revamped all aspects of production for their Châteaux Clarke and Malmaison properties starting with the exceptional 2016 vintage and it shows big time. Deep ruby with a royal purple hue. On the nose, fresh ripe raspberries and cherries with notes of black pepper, tobacco and toasted oak. Medium-bodied, with nice concentration as well as a velvety texture. On the palate, juicy red fruits, pencil shavings, hints of fresh herbs, freshly rolled cigars, mocha, medium acidity with slightly powdery tannins and notes of chocolate-covered cherries on the long, smooth and silky finish. Obviously young with good aging potential this wine is quite enjoyable now with a decent amount of decanting time. 14% Abv. Drink 2023-2030. 91-92
