Medium straw. Initially this was tight and seemed almost simple, but with air opened to reveal notes of green apple, bitter lemon, oyster shells, salty air, lees and minerals. Medium bodied, bright, lively, very Chardonnay and crisp but not sharp. Tasty but I have a hunch this needs time. I'll open my last bottle in 2027.

Beautiful and complex nose, complex on palate. Tiny but not exuberant bead. Mostly apple and quince to me. Very little bready/yeasty/briochy to me , but that is OK as a style. Finish lingers long on the palate. I really love the complexity - a special wine. Seek it out, you will not be disappointed.

Very light coppery green golden, restrained delicate bubbles. Nose light yeast, fresh lemon and hint of honey. Palate lemony, a bit of golden fruit with a slightly honeyed note, some wax.
Good richness balanced by very nice acidity. Classy and still young, but no harm in opening now I think. 93 pts with upside

Perman Champagne Night (Perman Wines, Chicago IL): Nose: The nose is deep, aromatic, and balanced with red apples, pears, quince, nectarines, vanilla beans, custard, crushed rocks, yellow flowers, biscuits, brioche, and warm dough. This is a knockout that shows off a lot of complexity and more richer fruits to chardonnay than one from the cotes de blancs.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with racy, high acidity. The acidity cuts while there is great texture and depth with red apples, pears, quince, nectarines, custard, brioche, crushed rocks, vanilla, and warm dough.
Overall: This is a great champagne that is at the beginning of its window. This feels like it can be a long-haul champagne as there is ample acidity and density with a deft touch.

Vinetasters: Special Clubs (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. The nose here has a bit of a bready character, as well as a little bit of smoke and some dough. In total, the profile is fairly strange. The palate has a hint of sweetness, and there's some bready qualities on the palate as well. The complexity is a little lacking here as well, but the sweetness gives this a little more balance overall. Overall the relative leanness and citrus had me going to chardonnay. My 5th, group's 1st.

Wow, great intensity, waves of mineral and complex flavor, great acidity, finishes with some nice length. Fabulous.

Black pepper on the back of the palate. As a spice. I guess the bellomite chalk below the surface 5% oak to round it.
