Grabbed on a whim at Costco. Popped, decanted. Initial impression left metallic aftertaste at the very end of the finish (NOT good).
Gave it time. Still there. However, finally, after getting a few hours of air, that subsided and disappeared.
Nose, palate - wonderful. Full, rich, nicely balanced mouthfeel. Lingering finish is nice (again, MUST breathe for hours to burn off that metallic issue - not sure what was going on...)

I pulled this bottle while doing a cellar inventory. I immediately thought that this was a high end priced CdR from the first sip. As I moved through the bottle, I was more and more impressed at every level of this wine; nose, taste, weight, balance, finish. Checked my Cellartracker to see where I bought it, and was floored to find out it was $14 from Costco. Usually when I buy a one off from Costco, I drink it right away, so I can go buy more if I like it. This one got away from me. I will try other vintages, but my experience tells me that i caught lightning in a bottle.
Pretty good bottle. A lot of cherry in this one, on the nose and in the mouth. Got several nice comments on it. Seemed ready to drink and dont see much that needs time integrating.

Picked up at Costco on a whim. Punches well above it’s weight, and heading back to pick up more for weeknight enjoyment. Lots of spice, fruit, and tannin in nice balance. Sneaky longer finish. I don’t think it has many years in it but hey I intend to buy and drink! Corkscrew with bumblebee: $160 Wine bottle with bumblebee: $15
What a deal!

Seductive, ripe but not blowsy. With none of that candied Grenache character. “potentially more approachable on release than earlier vintages” says the rather informative back label, not having ever had it before I wouldn’t know but it’s enjoyable now but with years ahead. A worthy competitor to Chateauneuf du Pape at one third the price.
80% Grenache 20% Syrah. 14.5%ABV

Pretty good cotes du Rhône. On the fence about buying more at $14.

Nice value Cotes du Rhone from good vintage. Good fruit, balance. Probably 2019-2022 drinking window.
